Style: Dunkelweizen

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.30%

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our dark wheat beer is impressive with its creamy white foam. A fruity-fresh sweetness and hints of mature bananas harmonise with delicious flavours of roasted malt, sparkling and full-bodied with a light caramel taste on the first sip. An excellent accompaniment from hearty meals and game to chocolate and nut desserts. Brewed according to our centuries-old brewing tradition on the Weihenstephan hill.

Look: hazy dark brown that fades to a golden bas. Thick 3" cream head with incredible retention and minimal lacing.

Smell: sweet malts, honey, cream, toasted bread, sunflower seeds, pine, citrus

Feel: smooth yet high carbonation. Very nice contrast.

Taste: bread pudding, figs, prunes, cream soda, tropical fruits, grapes, banana, hints of lemon after taste

Overall: creamy, complex and savory like a stout. Light and refreshing like a lager. Hints of hops, fruit, and citrus like an IPA.
I am a stout/Porter guy who detests fruity beers but this was absolutely delicious.

Favorite wheat beer. Very full and balanced rich flavor, but manages to be extremely refreshing at the same time. Good for those who like their beer to taste like bread.

Bottle to Tulip Glass.

Followed up the regular HefeWeissbier with this one and was mildly disappointed.

LOOK: Murky dark brown. Small off white head.
AROMA: Wheat, malt.
TASTE: Malty, grainy. touch of caramel like sweetness.
FEEL: smooth, but not like the regular HefeWeissbier. medium carbonation.

Good Beer. I will have to make Weihenstephaner and some other Germans a regular sample.

Pours a very hazy amber with an off white head. Smells of bananas, caramel, and roasted malt. Taste follows the nose along with plenty of spices. Medium creamy body with medium carbonation.

murky amber, with a huge head making pouring very difficult. A very solid ring of foam stays on top of the brew, light lacing.

Very strong clove smell, as well as coriander and some citrus. Banana. Vanilla?

Taste follows with coriander and cloves, bread. Caramel and banana are present, and the whole thing is sweet but in a very restrained fashion. Traces of alcohol. Apple. A very, very slight bitterness that helps with balance.

Mouthfeel is very full and round. Nice medium body, with medium carbonation.

Terrific.

Pours a hazy, amber brown, with a truly massive, creamy head; four fingers to a pint.

Smells cheaper than it tastes, nothing special. The flavor profile is mild; fruity, malty and soft.

Overall, A good beer, but I was expecting more.
