First, there is an attached cheese shop that looked nice, but I didn't try it out. They also advertised cigars, but if there was anything resembling a walk-in humidor, it was hidden.

Now let's get to the beer.

This place had a very surprising craft selection, as well as a pretty good import selection. Trappists and Bavarian brews were both well-represented. The craft selection, in addition to being pretty balanced and wide-ranging, was very fresh. I picked up a number of brews I can't find elsewhere in the area, and a handful of IPAs only a month old.

Service was fine, and they have a beer club where you can sign up to get first crack at any rare releases (e.g. Enjoy By, DFH 120) that they might get in stock (before it hits the shelves).

Very cool, and a very convenient location. I will be going back.

I visited this store and I have to disagree with the last person to review this store, Although its a good size store, there craft section is def NOT the best in new london county!! They do have some limited and hard to get brews but there pricing is a bit high on them compared to other stores ive shopped. i mean do they wanna hold on to the product or sell it??? Also there craft section features very little brews that are off the beaten path they have more mainstream bigger craft breweries such as sam adams, sierra nevada etc. Thats very disappointing to me personally because i enjoy to try brews that i cant get everywhere.

As a sales rep of a large NY-area beer store, I enjoy visiting beer stores in other states and taking a mental inventory of the stock as well as the company practices. I think there is always something to learn from others in the beer business and this store was not an exception.

I visited this store while passing through New London by boat and I found its basic supermarket exterior unremarkable, but the treasure was clearly inside. The brightly lit store was divided into wine, spirits, and beer with a long refrigerated section traversing the entire back of the store.

The beer was divided by aisle from macro to craft, with most of the big 36pks being cold or not observable. The craft and import sections were very interesting as I saw different sizes, new names, and a few new beers not issued in NY.

I enjoyed finding new flavors and old favorites such as Allagash, Cisco Brewing, DFH, Oskar Blues, and Smuttynose.

What I learned was that there isn't a shortage of DFH in the NE part of the USA, as I had been told and I could get all that I wanted. 60-90-Squall, etc, was all available.

Altogether, I would consider this a good rival to Gordon's Yellow Front beer store, which was deeper into New London.

Let me start by saying that in my opinion this is the best liquor store in New London County for craft beer, however, this area is lacking in craft beer. If I lived closer this would be my go-to spot.

This is a large package store with the normal ambiance, but I gave it a bit higher ranking for atmosphere because they also have a little cheese shop attached.

The service, on the other hand, I found to be not so great. the girls working behind the counter always seem to be in a bad mood.

The selection is good, which for this area means great. They dedicate two large shelving ares to craft beer, with many singles, sixers and just a good variety. Good amount of fridge space given to craft beers too.

I've had some cheese from here that I thought was pretty darn good too.

Prices are average.
