This part of Tennessee is also known as the Moonshine Capital of the world. This means one of two things: 1) Everybody here is always drunk as shit on homemade booze 2) Everybody here is always drunk as shit but nice as hell. I am happy to announce that we experienced one of the happy people.

Our server was Sydney and she was the best MM server I have ever had. I have been to at least 15 MM around the country and she was the best. I am normally greeted with a "Hey bro. Im high as fuck but I might be able to help you eat today. As long as you don't make me walk, we're cool yo.". Sydney was an actual human being that wasn't totally wasted and preoccupied with how many ounces they are going to get with their next hashish purchase. She was beautiful, personable, conversational, and worked her ass off. All servers should be like her.

The beer selection was typical MM. Lots of crafts on draft with the occasional micro beer. Didn't look like there was a whole lot of special stuff but a great selection for the area.

The food was the same as always; awesome. The service at this particular MM puts this at the top of my list. Perhaps Sydney is the only decent MM waitress in the whole chain, but I really enjoyed my time with her.

Pizza joint with large straight craft beer bar that seats about 20. Many tables and booths fill out the rest of the room. 25 assorted, mostly regional, brews. Fast friendly service and great tasting pizza.

Mellow Mushroom is a chain, but the draft beer selection is by far the best in town. With BMC, local/regional craft taps, and a rotating list of crafts from around the country, there is something here for everyone. It lacks in foreign beer selection, but it's among the best I've seen in what is primarily a restaurant and tops in the Tri-Cities.

High gravity pours are served in ten ounce goblets and usually cost between $5-$6/pour. Most other craft beers are $4-$5/pint. Macro drafts are $2-$3 for premiums - sometimes Rolling Rock will be $.75 for what I think is a 12 oz cup. Value is par for the course for the area if you want to drink decent beer.

Food is mostly pizza and subs. Pizza is the best among the chains in the area, but you can find better pizza at local shops (Rush Street in Kingsport, Boomershine Pizzeria in Blountville) at a far less price. There's also no good pizza option for an individual. If I eat here, I usually get a half Italian, which is around $7 and a delicious sandwich. The bruschetta here is very good and dripped in chocolate, but other appetizers are forgettable. If you want to eat a signature pizza, bring more than one person, and be warned it's quite expensive.

Service, at least in the bar, has always been outstanding. The same gentleman has been the head bartender for a few years and other bartenders are nearly as good.

Bottom line: This is a great place to get a fresh brew in an area that is otherwise lacking in bars. The beer menu is large enough to satisfy any customer, and if you want something stronger, that is available too. The food is good, but a little too pricey. Still a great bet overall.

The first thing we saw on entering was not that enticing: "Bud Light pitchers $6". Oh well.

We visited early on a Saturday evening. It was not completely full but most tables were occupied. Visually reasonably attractive, but the music was too loud and not to my taste (OK, I'm a geezer).

Our server, Ike I think, was very good - friendly and attentive. The food menu is limited. We got a "freshie" pizza which is not on the menu: cheese/tomato/fresh basil, tasty but the price seemed a bit on the high side. The beer menu is fairly extensive especially for this area. I had a Highland Gaelic Ale which I enjoyed; my better half doesn't drink beer. We will probably return.
