The Auroch's Horn is a modern reinterpretation of ancient ale brewed throughout Europe more than two thousand years ago. Ale was a staple of the barbarian diet, with Roman historians documenting a beverage made with barley, wheat, and honey in Britannia, Gaul, and Germania. The ale was consumed from the horn of the auroch (or aurochs), a now extinct wild bull.

This beer pours a darker golden co,or. The head is white and 2 finger. Retention is moderate, and no real lacing in the glass.
The nose is really funky smelling. A wild aroma. A tart smelling beer, but a hint of the honey that the beer is brewed with.
Taste - a bit of tart up front, sweet on the backside.
Decent body. Some carbonation bubbles going down.
An interesting beer, overall. Not my favorite, but something interesting to try.

Poured from a 750 ml corked bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.
Appearance: Pours a deep and hazy amber orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Huge three finger off white head with good retention.
Smell: A funky, sweet, and fruity Belgian like aroma with a scent of honey, spices, and fruit. Belgian yeast with some hints of clove, peppers, and farmhouse funk. Big scent of honey sweetness. Fruit hints of banana, pear, apple, orange, and pineapple. Malt scent of grains, wheat, straw, biscuit, and caramel. A very good aroma.
Taste: Like it smells, a uniquely funky, sweet, and fruity Belgian like taste with notes of honey, fruit, and spices. Upfront taste of Belgian yeast with some farmhouse funk and spice notes of clove and pepper. Lots of sweet honey throughout. Malt notes of wheat, straw, grains, biscuit, and caramel. Fruit notes of banana, apple, pear, orange, and pineapple. A pretty good taste.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a medium to high level of carbonation. Creamy and smooth with minimal alcohol heat. Sweet but finishes somewhat dry.
Overall: A very good and unique brew. Big Belgian like yeast and fruit presence with a good dose of honey sweetness.

What a unique and tasty brew. Tastes like a quad and has the feel of a farmhouse ale. The honey adds a nice sweetness to overall flavor. I look forward to trying more beers from this brewer.

L: Pours hazy gold, 2” rapidly dissipating white foam cap.
S: honey, ripe fruit, some bread
T: More honey, fruit, approaching a nectarine. Maybe a little citrus and a light hop hand on the finish. The aftertaste is some Belgian biscuit, honey and almost like a marmalade with some fruit skin for bitterness. Faint hint of banana and bubble gum.
F: Very creamy and effervescent, above average carbonation.
O: The brewer has nailed the Belgian texture and yeast.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle.
A: Pours a deep hazy golden orange with two fingers of off white head. Excellent retention eventually fades to beautiful soapy looking lacing.
S: Sweet malts, wheat, citrus, banana, clove, honey, and some barnyard style funk.
T: Wow. Honey, sweet malts, banana, and clove hit you up front, then citrus, lees, earthy hops and an ever so slight tartness.
M: Mid to light in body, a moderately high level of carbonation is present, goes down smooth and juicy. Very pleasant to drink.
O: This is a great brew. It is something I can say is truly unique. It has everything you could want in a Belgian Strong/Farmhouse style ale while having it's own distinct tastes and charm.
