Appearance: A golden yellow body that has orange highlights and ample carbonation is a good sign, as is the two fingers of head that was produced. What wasn't so good was said head evaporated down to a half pinky in short order and no lacing was to be had.

Smell: Has an unmistakable white wine aroma to itself, and that's really it. Probably one of the harder whites like a Pinot Grigio and not something light and sweet like a Riesling. Potency is there, and warming doesn't really help it out, but yeah...white wine.

Taste: Nothing bad here, but very basic and not quite what I'm looking for in a beer. It starts with a mild touch of bready malt and a slight grape note, which then turns into foamy white wine. It's not bad wine, but if I wanted white wine, I'd drink white wine.

Mouthfeel: The carbonation is a bit too well done. As you drink it, it's fine but after you are done it leaves a mild dry wine note and seltzer water note that don't mesh well. Transitioning is basic as expected for something this basic.

Drinkability: Glug glug, guzzle guzzle, where did it go? It's a lawnmower drinker, and a decent one at that I suppose. You know the type, refreshing, ridiculously easy to put back, light in extreme and only really falls into that niche. In this case, maybe also as a substitute for cheap wine?

Final Thoughts: I will applaud the brewer in making a brew that according to the can has no grape juice in it. I'll also applaud them for being a bit bolder and making a "Summer Ale" that wasn't a wheat beer. That said, why wouldn't I just drink white wine is what I'm asking on this one. I guess because this is a bit more refreshing, can extend your drinking longer and has carbonation without the higher acid I always found carbonated wine to have. While those reasons might win over some people, they aren't winning me over. You will likely want to pass.

473 ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for $3.25 CDN or so. Glad to see these guys putting out new beers, the Hawaiian style and Moroccan Brown are both pretty solid.

Appearance - Hazy golden color, some sediment poured into the glass. A small finger of white head is poured and fizzles out very quickly.

Smell - Some wheat, hints of banana and a light floral aroma.

Taste - Very watery and otherwise quite similar to the nose. Seems more like an American Pale Wheat than a saison. Wheat and subtle fruitiness is the extent of the flavor profile.

Mouthfeel - Thin, watery, middling carbonation and not a terribly dry finish that is commonplace with a saison.

Overall - Seems more like a pale wheat ale, either way this was disappointing and could've used being a little more robust.
