Serving from a bottle. Still trying to figure out the relationship to Shipyard Brewing.
Poured a light brown with a decent head. The smell was pretty light, nothing overwealming, but was slightly sweet.
Taste was a very standard Brown Ale. Carmel overtown with nice malty flavor. Mucb better than a big name brown ale, but nothing to set itself out.
Decent drinking beer. Kind of difficult to come across and would not put in the effort for it again. But would buy if sold locally.

Fantastic brown hue! Poured into a pilsner glass a deep, rich, dark chocolaty, brown with a single finger of froth. Head does not linger. Sweet "dry-ish" nose. Sweet, sappy flavor. The bittnerness is of yeast & molasses, i like it. Not overly sweet. Nice balance. Slightly thin body with some fizziness.
I'm really missing the chocolate, toasty, nuttiness in this interpretation. I enjoy the hop/citrus elements, but maybe I just am a little bit of a purest with this style. It just wasn't "warming" for me. It's hard to critisize this interpretation as Brown Ales can be interpreted so broadly. I am giving the taste a "4" because while above average, it is not my favorite interpretation of the brown ale.

A- pours a dark brown with a reddish hue. Light brown head, some but not a ton of lace.
S- a nice malt character with a hint of chocolate, a good amount of molasses, brown sugar, caramel.
T- again, this is a moderately roasty and dark beer that is very malt forward, with toffee and caramel coming through along with a slight nuttiness.
O- a really solid brown ale that is working quite well for me. Just misses from being very good, could use more roasty dark flavors to get it that.

Thanks to my sister for getting the beer of the month subscription that this came in.
This pours deep red to the point that I had to make sure this wasn't the Irish red I got in the package. There is good retention on a frothy sand-colored head. On the nose there are dark wet grains and deep nuttiness. In the mouth the nuttiness combines with some chocolate malt. The body is medium light, very drinkable with a short, somewhat spritzy finish.
Overall, this beer isn't extremely interesting, but it's doing a great job of washing down a spicy lunch for me.
