The colour is yellow-gold (8 EBC), the high white head sinks slowly leaving lits of lacing.
The smell is earthy and bitter with floral hops. Some hony and quite a lot of lemonade with clean sweet notes. It is very fresh.
The taste is fresh as it is supposed to be. Sweet lemon notes. German floral hops and some orange peels. Some earthy yeasty notes and exotic fruits like mango and pineapples. It is medium bitter and the body is medium. The aftertaste got citric note of tangerines and lemons, lots of flowers and succade. Hints of peels and honey in the long finish.
The carbonation is mild to medium strong, the mid-sized bubbles long-lived. The liquid is a bit sticky.
The Astral project is about bringing small batch IPA as fast as possible to the drinkers, and at the same time being able to use unusual hop varieties. To start of with the German variety Merkur was a bold move that payed off. This is an exciting and pleasant beer with distinct lemonade/lemon flavours.
