10 specialty malts make up this majestic imperial stout conditioned on heaps of coffee and vanilla beans. Simple, yet complex.

Thanks again to whomever brought this to the Firestone Walker Fest Pre Party 2017.

Pours black, 1/3" light brown head. The aroma hits the commercial tug job spot, its just draped in all kinds of coffee and vanilla. I dunno about the "10 specialty crafted malts" it just smells like every other stout with a bunch of roasted/burnt malt. Then again people thought Black Tuesday with 20 malts was sooooo different (eye roll).

Taste is easy going, way less bitter than I thought it would be, dang vanilla beans in here must be on roids or some shit, very smooth mouth feel despite a grip load of coffee. So much vanilla it makes you think there is cream and caramel added. Also hides the alcohol amazingly well. Boy this and bourbon barrel mud cake really show they make some top notch stouts.

At the end of the day, this is like an imperial breakfast stout with vanilla. And that is a pretty big compliment.

22oz bottle. No bottling date information found.
Black colored body, with a garnet thin edge when back lit. One finger of mocha colored head, which settles back to a thick cap. Leaves big spots of lacing.
Aroma of dark malts, with a little coffee and vanilla.
Taste follows with the dark malts, coffee, and vanilla, and some good cocoa chocolate.
Medium mouth feel, with a very smooth texture. Good carbonation.
Solid stout, and it hides the higher ABV% very well.

A 330ml bottle with a best before date of I think 15th April 2022. Poured into a snifter glass.

Appearance: Black in colour with a one finger mocha brown head that had decent retention and left nice spotty lacing.

Aroma: Roasted malts, chocolate, mocha, vanilla and coffee.

Taste: Roasty malts, coffee, mocha, rich chocolate, vanilla and hints of caramel with a lightly bitter finish.

Mouthfeel: Rich, velvety, smooth, full bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall: Just a wonderful sipper with especially great rich and smooth chocolate and coffee flavours.

A lovely opaque black colour with a rather sizy tanned head which leaves a nice laced pattern of the same colour on the glass. A strong scent full of roasted malts, coffee (almost espresso-like), chocolate and a bit of sweet vanilla. The taste is FULL of the things I just mentioned. The darkest of coffees followed by a lasting taste of sweet, beautiful vanilla. The taste stays in your mouth for a good while. A nice thick feel to it. An exceptional imperial stout which could very well replace my morning coffee.

From Labor Day weekend notes:
Moderate pour yields a beautiful 3/4 inch tan head over a dark brown body with sticky lacing. Nose of coffee, vanilla, a bit of chocolate, and lots of booze! Taste mirrors nose with a strange finish, very strange. Good feel and overall, a disappointment. Cheers!

This brew, with a coiling snake on the label, is from a big bottle, and is utterly black. the head is towering, thick, lasting, and dark brown. Full in body...alcoholic flavor. I get a chalky, chocolate quality. Warming. The beer does have an acidic quality that is distracting. Overall, not bad.

Pours a deep dark brown color with well over a finger of head - this baby is live! The nose has a some roast and some coffee notes. The flavor follows the nose but there is no discernible vanilla to this offering, however.

This offering is solid and dangerously drinkable for an 11% ABV. In a blind taste test, I would have pegged this as a 6-8% ABV stout.

330ml bottle poured into tulip 7/3/18

Some of the darker liquid I've seen, black out of the bottle and even the foam is some of the darkest I've seen. Vanilla, fudge, hazelnuts, coffee, smells like something I want to eat, thick and a little sticky on the lips, burnt coffee just keeps going. I thought his one was awesome, I might grab a couple more to age for a while.....
