A 330ml bottle with a best before date of 12th December 2024. Poured into a snifter glass.

Appearance: Black in colour with pretty much no head or lacing.

Aroma: Rum, vanilla, liquorice, molasses, sweet soy, light roast, chocolate.

Taste: Light roast, chocolate, rum, vanilla, brown sugar, oak, raisin, liquorice, lightly herbal.

Mouthfeel: Light booze, medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Overall: A nice balanced sipper. I’m not a huge fan of rum, but it adds a nice touch here.

Got this one from Plan B in Rotterdam
From a bottle into a snifter
Imperial stout brewed with marshmallows and Tahitian vanilla beans

APPEARANCE: Black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, light tan head with good retention. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a good wisp cap and clings to the glass. Ring and touches of wisp remain leaving dots of lacing on the glass as it empties.

SMELL: Lots of rum, oak, some vanilla cream and milk chocolate, coconut and toffee on the nose. Plenty of rum and barrel character. Bold.

TASTE: Sweet rum, brown sugar, milk chocolate and vanilla cream up front. Boozy. Some alcohol and oak at the swallow with a bold and lingering finish of sugary rum, milk chocolate, vanilla and toffee sweetness, brown sugar, oak and alcohol. Bold and boozy for sure.

PALATE: Medium body and medium levels of carbonation. Enough weight and creamy on the palate, goes down fine with a decent burn at the swallow and finishes somewhat sticky. Some solid heat lingers.

OVERALL: Another example of why Omnipollo is everything it’s cracked up to be. This is a big, bruiser of an imperial stout with heaps of rum barrel all over it. The base stout is fine on its own but this is a step up in my book. Big feel, big flavor and lots of boozy sweetness. Good stuff and well worth checking out if you like stuff along this line. Recommended.

33cl bottle served in a tulip. Pours one shade shy of black with a loose, mocha-colored head that quickly disperses towards the edges leaving a frothy band around the shoulders and an oily dollop in the center. Nose is quite sweet - brown sugar, molasses, dark fruits (perhaps raisins) and a hint of spirits towards the back. Taste consistent with nose; however, there's also a suggestion of marshmallow, vanilla bean and wood. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with an oily texture and an almost still carbonation. Overall, quite tasty. Omnipollo knows their stouts.

This beer pours a pitch black body with a thin beige head.
Rum upfront in the nose. Raisins soaked presence with other candied fruits, big vanilla presence, chocolate.
The taste is a lot on the rum with a big booze presence but it remains balanced between some savory chocolate notes, and vanilla which rounds the whole things up. Some sweetness but balanced with the barrel aging acidity.
Very smooth all along.
Overall, this is totally different beer. I can't find the usual Omnipollo dessert notes. Its big rum presence makes it a quite sipper which is not a bad thing.

Poured into a teku glass.

A: The body is pitch black, very dense and thick. Almost no head though visibly light brown. Lots of lacing that disappears quickly due to the high sugary content.
S: The nose is very alcoholic. In the back, fresh and very good coffee. No marshmallow though, which is very disappointing.
T: The taste begins with a sweet coffee like flavour that is destroyed by the rum notes. In the back, a mild bitterness and tartness due to the barrel aging on rum. Rum is something that is too overwhelming here. It's too present.
M: Body is high. Though too many sugary contents. Carbonation is good. Bitterness is mild, but alcohol is way to present.
O: Two things, a) too much sugar and b) barrel aging on this beer should be reduced to minimum. No marshmallow flavour, too much alcohol.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours jet black with very little carbonation. Nose is marshmallow, vanilla, rum, chocolate, and a bit of caramel. Spectacular. Taste blows me away. A bit of burnt chocolate notes, coffee, vanilla, marshmallow. Really amazing complexity and smoothness. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy.

Little bit of tan head. Caramel brown black color.

Lots of rum. Strong and boozy. Dark fruits, raisins, licorice. Chocolate and fudge. Sweetness from the nilla and mallows.

This is solid, but fairly boozy. Fun to try though.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, red session. Dark brown color. Aroma has boozy rum, chocolate and cacao. Taste starts sweet, like a fudge cake but gets more bitter on the finish.
