Served in a red wine glass from the can.

Appearance: comes off a deep dark brown tinted black someone thick but someone thin almost resembling a porter but has a thick dart in head reflecting no molasses or coffee used for the beer. Settles quick after one sip to almost nothing with sticky lacing on the glass.

Smell: smells of espresso and warm toffee.

Taste: sweet sweet still a touch malty. Molasses and coffee and light mocha.

Mouth: very sticky beer and my favorite characteristic of the beer. Medium carbonation with a very full body. Above-average aftertaste which lingers.

Overall: very good beer but I have had better Maple infused beers from other breweries. No tweaking needed just take your time and you will definitely enjoy it especially if you love imperial stouts. Salud!

Pours a dark deep back color. Thin, almost non-existent brown head lingers on the beer.

Aroma has notes of roasted malts, some light maple syrup notes, and molasses.

Taste has notes of rich roasted malts, almost charred. Light notes of vanilla, maple syrup, coffee, cartelized sugars with an surprisingly pronounced bitterness on the finish. Beer is very hot - really warms the throat and stomach as its consumed.

Feel is thick and syrupy. Sprightly carbonation.

Overall this is a beast of a beer. Very hot - to my palate its just too much.

A: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a jet black color and a thick, impenetrable consistency. Almost no head to speak of, but a decent amount of lacing.

S: A nice aroma of chocolate, malt, a little coffee, and a sugary element.

T: Tasted of roasted malt, a good dose of chocolate, some coffee (but not a lot), and the advertised maple syrup (this ingredient doesn't make a huge impression, but it is welcome). A big, complex, powerful flavor. Very, very tasty.

M: A below average amount of carbonation, but a super smooth and creamy finish. Full-bodied.

O: A well made, easy to like stout. Definitely drinkable.

22oz bottle split and poured into a snifter.

A: Pours a thick very black with a mahogany head. Leaves some spots of lacing on the glass. Head remains as a thin film throughout the glass.

S: Roasted malts blended with coffee and chocolate. A bit of smokiness to it. Sweet maple syrup as the bottle indicates. A touch of booze in there hints at things to come.

T: Starts off as a full bodied wholesome stout with a strong roastiness. After swallowing dark fruits, tobacco, alcohol, coffee and carmel come through.

M: Has low carbonation and a full body. I like the creamy mouthfeel that compliments the bold flavors. Some stickiness comes through from the sweetness.

Overall maple syrup makes a great compliment to the strong stout flavor. Great looking bottle made this an easy sell. Give it a shot if you're into bold and complex beers.

Black as hell. Mocha brown head with great stickage. Looks like motor oil, for sure.

Faintly smoky with notes of dark chocolate, maple, and licorice. Heavy heavy roastiness equipped with noticeable malt bitterness to combat what smells like sweetness.

A roasty sweet malt wonderland with huge flavor notes of bitter chocolate, gooey toffee, booze, licorice, spicy hops, maple, and faint smokiness. Incredible stuff.

Silky, yet soft, too. Has some suds, not many but some. Feels good and thick.

A very good impy. Love how the sweetness turned how to be milder.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. 2013 bottle, properly cellared. Pours pitch black, opaque in the glass, with only a few patches of brown foam and a tiny ring around the glass. Aroma of toasted, charred malt, coffee, bittersweet chocolate, licorice and light molasses. Flavor is smoky toasted dark malt, high cacao chocolate, light coffee and vanilla. Finishes with smoke and char, vanilla, chocolate and light oak and grassy hop bitterness. Nice nearly syrupy creamy body with decent carbonation considering the lack of head on pouring. A really nice, dark, smoky, toasty stout with good light chocolate and coffee notes and some woody barrel flavors, although I'm not sure this was barrelled. High ABV well covered by quite rich taste. A very enjoyable deep, dark stout.

Appearance- Pours up an amazing amount of head which has excellent retention. The head is a very fluffy, dark beige/mocha while the body is a dark chocolate black. Amazingly, no lacing has been left behind. However, thick sheeting develops around the surface of the beer.

Nose- Delicious rush of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt notes. Not terribly complex but it makes up for that with an endearing richness and creaminess. Some nuttiness and some indications of milk. Swirling shows and almost piercing sweetness (though not cloying)- hints of raisins, figs, and even suggest maple syrup. Nice fudge brownie profile. Some caramel.

Taste- Starts off with a massive blend of robust chocolate and coffee. Very reflective of the nose. Coffee ends up with a bit of bitterness which is a little woody. Some raisins, slight hint of maple syrup. Light show of alcohol but definitely low key. Caramel and maple syrup sit in the middle. The coffee notes and roasted notes turn a little too sweet and give off a slight sourness. A pretty good imperial stout. Maybe not 17 bucks a bomber good but it gets close. Needs more nuance. Balance and integration are more than perfunctory but could be better. Presence is on par many good to great imperials. A basic good imperial that is focused on coffee. Somewhat slick and greasy on the mouthfeel. I like that this delivers on its promise of maple syrup.

Mouthfeel- Almost heavy bodied with a hint of grittiness. Robust carbonation that works.

Drinkability- Very enjoyable and surprising at 12.5%. Little pricey at 6 bucks for a 250 mL pour but it is proportional to its cost by the bottle.

Overall- Solid, really good imperial stout. Worth a try but I would try to get it on tap instead of splurging on a bottle.
