Pours a dark deep back color. Thin, almost non-existent brown head lingers on the beer.

Aroma has notes of roasted malts, some light maple syrup notes, and molasses.

Taste has notes of rich roasted malts, almost charred. Light notes of vanilla, maple syrup, coffee, cartelized sugars with an surprisingly pronounced bitterness on the finish. Beer is very hot - really warms the throat and stomach as its consumed.

Feel is thick and syrupy. Sprightly carbonation.

Overall this is a beast of a beer. Very hot - to my palate its just too much.

On draught at Meckelburgs, Brooklyn.

Pours a pitch black, espresso color, with notes of mahogany. A creamy tan head dissipates and leaves ring of lacing.

The nose is dominated by the sweetness of maple syrup. Aromas of chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and dark caramel.

The taste is sweet with tons of maple syrup as well as notes of milk chocolate and caramel. There is a mild roasty bitterness that develops, yielding notes of coffee and dark chocolate. Notes of dark toasted malts, biscuit, dark fruit and cherry.

Full bodied with an ultra creamy and smooth mouthfeel. The finish is smooth. The carbonation is gentle.

Despite the overall sweetness and high ABV, this doesn’t come across as boozy. Overall, a smooth drinking dessert kind of beer.

16oz can purchased (I think) at the Spokane Valley Total Wine a number of months ago. At 12.5% abv, I'm not too worried about that.

Poured into a semi-tulip glass, this was a very dark brown, virtually black, with a tight, dark khaki head. Said head dropped somewhat quickly (not surprising, given the abv), but never died away completely. Spotty lace.

Pretty balanced nose for an adjunct laden imperial stout. Maple syrup is definitely present, but doesn't dominate things, with a brown sugar/molasses aroma being there as well, so it smells like a big stout made with maple syrup rather than a stack of pancakes.

Taste is pretty similar to the smell. While definitely a maple syrup-adjuncted (is that even a word?) beer, there's plenty of chocolatey, coffeeish stout character on hand as well. Not as cloyingly sweet as I feared, either. The level of balance is really impressive. The high alcohol is just hinted at, with a slightly boozy flavor way, way in the distance. Great stuff!

Creamy mouthfeel. Dessert-y, a little sticky, but not over the top about it.

Really nice melding of pastry stout with the right amount of restraint, if that makes any sense. A paragon of balance. I'd definitely hit this again.

Well I’m very excited about this beer. I found a new beer store that has lots of stouts and this was one of them. In fact there were so many I wanted to try I just kind of randomly selected this one. Got it for only $6. I believe this is my first omnipollo. Poured out straight and stiff into a snifter with about an inch head on it. Darkest brown even black. Smell has a tinge of alcohol heat to it. Mostly getting raisin and cherry out of it though. My wife says it smelled like wine, that might be appropriate. Interesting taste. Starts off quite bitter. I can hold it in my mouth and nothing but a bitter bakers chocolate. Then as I swallow it slowly warms up into a very sweet mouth explosion. The maple is quite strong. It is almost like maple syrup, dark and sugary and flavorful which envelopes the mouth only on the backend as it washes away. This may be the best maple flavored stout I’ve ever had. But I have to wait for it. It comes after the swallow. Let’s not forget the notes of chocolate and coffee. Mouthfeel is moderately carbonated and medium thick. Overall this is a stout to return to again due to its mastery of the maple flavor, if for no other reason. Cheers!

Undated can into pint glass. Pours a very dark brown (SRM 34-36). I managed to coax a thin medium-tan head out of it, which dissipated almost immediately. Maple, chocolate, espresso, roasted malts and vanilla are evident. Mouthfeel is thick and fairly smooth; alcohol is extremely well hidden. Finish is sweet maple syrup, with just a bit of bitterness. Overall, much better than what I expected when I saw "brewed with maple syrup" on the can - I've had an unfortunate encounter or two with the genre. This one wasn't bad, but I don't think I could take a steady diet of Agamemnon.

Kind of absurdly huge, sticky, very sweet, but hits that maple syrup note on the nose. Aroma is all maple but there is also chocolate, a little roast, alcohol and even mild bitterness on the palate. Still thankful to share this with my wife, 8oz is more than enough.

maple as heck, but almost in a bad way, sweet and sort of fake cheap waffle type, cool that its on tap in idaho, i wish more of this sort of thing was possible, but this is heavy and dense and stupid even for these guy, maple out the jar, some chap sugar character, and a base stout thats almost impossibly sturdy, just a bit too much, but without a ton of roast for a strong stout, so the sweet from the maple element stands out even more, but im not sure its fully authentic, like it says its boiled for ever and i guess i get that from the grain, but the maple part still tastes not real to me, fully over the top, not bad, not cheap, but not like from the tree either. so much malt here, so much heft, so much residual sugar, this is something to have a very little of and take slow, i cannot imagine a full pour. hints of brown sugar and chewed tobacco and freezer waffles, some chocolate bar too, this is crazy beer. it almost weird that its a liquid, but somehow it all comes together in a way that i reckon most folks would think is tasty. over the top by any measure, but cool too. i continue to seek out omnipollo beer, maybe i am in the minority now, but i love what they do and look forward to each one. they should be offended by their pricing across the board, but generally you get what you pay for...

Can: Poured a pitch-black color stout with a large dark brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet chocolate notes with dominant maple notes. Taste is also a mix of sweet chocolate malt notes with some strong maple notes and light woody notes from the maple also showing out. Body is full with nice creamy texture and good carbonation. Solid stout thought a tad too sweet for my liking.

Maple syrup drenched roasted boozy vanilla cake in a glass.

A: Pours a thick viscous opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown + dark chestnut brown + dark garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense foamy dark tan head that slowly reduces to a large patch of slightly mottled very thin film covering a little more than 95% of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of roasted + dark + chocolate + caramel + slightly smoked malts with a moderate amount of dark fruit (plum + fig) + maple syrup sweetness. Light to moderate aromas of espresso + maple syrup. Hints of earthy hops.

T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of roasted + dark + chocolate + caramel + slightly smoked malts with a moderate amount of dark fruit (plum + fig) + maple syrup sweetness. That is followed by moderate flavors of espresso + cocoa + maple syrup. Finally there is a light flavor of earthy hops. There is a moderate amount of roasty bitterness which slowly fades away leaving lingering slightly sweet roasted malt flavors.

M: Medium to full bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a hint of alcohol warming in the finish (as the beer warms up).

O: Easy to drink with extremely well hidden alcohol and a dangerously smooth mouthfeel (this beer drinks like a significantly lower alcohol beer). Enjoyable with lots of malt complexity and rich flavors without a ton of sweetness - not cloying at all and rather well balanced.

Poured from fridge temp. Pours a gorgeous black with brown head. The maple is very strong on this one, which is great. Definitely dominates the nose. Roasted malts, chocolate, a bit of coffee, almonds, dates, raisins. Really nice smell. The taste is fantastic. Super smooth. Sweet, but not too much. Maple syrup, honey, dark chocolate, red grapes, prunes, dates, and some vanilla. Very nicely balanced - another winner from Omnipollo. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy, and the alcohol is very secretive. I will definitely seek this out again.

Look: It pours black with a dark brown head. Head retention is very good.

Smell: It has aromas of chocolate and maple up front. There are quite a bit of toffee notes with herbs and brown sugar.

Taste: The maple syrup is up front in the flavor with toffee and chocolate. There are some herbal notes in support with slight vanilla and brown sugar. Feel: It has a full body with a bittersweet finish.

Overall, the maple syrup is strong, but not overwhelming to the point of being sickeningly sweet.
