A-Pours a very hazy amber color with a very generous head and lacing.

T-The taste follows the nose with an abundant malt flavor and less pronounced hip and honey flavors

Just got a 4pk of this amazing brew. Canned on 10/25/18. Good head retention, thick lacing and easy drinking. At 9.7% will definitely pay the $17 & change again.

Similar in theory to Hopslam, though not as tasty, this is a good DIPA with a honey presence that is less present in this year's batch compared to last year's. Too bad, because that makes it harder to rate. If I'd only had the most recent batch, I'd call it a bitter, resinous IPA with a decent malt presence and some underlying sweet, floral notes, and not bother going out of my way for it in the future. However, the first time I had it over a year ago, it was rich, fully-flavored with honey, piney hops with just a bit of citrus - not quite as masterful as DC Brau's Wings of Armageddon, but certainly a worthy addition to their catalogue. So my recommendation: remember it and try it next year.

Poured on tap at the brewery in a sample, and then growler filled and poured into a DC fancy pants tulip glass. Kept chilled and drank within 2 hours from tapping.
Bright deep orange body color with some tan carbonation coming through, and fairly clear with a bit of opaque quality. Head is soapy and nearly tan but with a bigger white appearance, and manages a soapy three fingers. Manages excellent lacing and shampoo like rings, a real nice looking IPA.
Hop aroma heads for dank earth and tea mix. Orange pekoe notes pop in with a bit of a weedy like quality on the nose as well. Sweet caramel just a touch manages to bring everything together very nicely and balance the bitterness as well, almost with a floral sweetness coming out. Very nice.
Palate sticks to the basics, with a good unique hop angle. Moderate body with a simple malt backbone, manages to just let the hops take centre stage. Front forward pine and slight juice quality but bends easily to earthy and dry angles. Bit of a dry mouth finish but also gives to herbal tea like qualities and flavors for the aftertaste. A bit peppery hot as well interestingly, but tolerable which makes for a bit of fun too.
A good solid IPA from the brau gang once again and one with some fun also.

64 oz. growler shared by RussianDragon. Golden orange to copper body, moderate haze, an inch of white head. Earthy malts, dank hops, biscuit, pine resin. What I would describe as "balanced" which is generally not my ideal. I prefer hop forward, modern examples of the style. Medium bodied and robust. less bready character and more fresh hops, please. Fun to try.
