Had this on tap at the release at Meridian Pint. Served in a taster glass.

A - No head, just like the other barrel aged Citizen. Amber color.

S - Very slight smell. A good amount of bourbon and Belgian funk.

T - They left some of the bourbon in the barrel before filling the barrel. That definitely shine through. No tartness (like from the other barrel), and a good amount of the bourbon.

M - Light, drinkable, but with the lack of carbonation, it is a bit odd.

O - I prefer the other barrel version to this one, but this one may actually have more potential. This needs to be in wine barrels

More barrel aged beers by DC Brau, these beers are probably going to be placed in the "accident" pile eventually. Both of these beers (the barrel aged Citizens) are the same base beer and aged in the same barrels from the same distillery but they turned out different. I get the experimental nature of this but blending barrels is how to remove variability and putting a Belgian Pale ale into a rye whiskey barrel wouldn't have been my first choice.

Beer is hazy, almost no head, low carbonation, no lacing.

Aroma is sweet, mostly the rye is coming through, booze, mild yeast esters sneaking through.

Beer is super thin, surprisingly thin, whiskey up front and then it sort of turns into water with a mildly dry finish. It is interesting but not a repeat (if it were possible).
