This is the old Picasso's sports bar. I went on a Wednesday night which is $2.50 for all drafts and I think a couple of food specials. The place is probably what you might consider dive-ish although it was very clean with plenty of big screen HDTV's so maybe just old would be a better description. Possibly interior updates are forthcoming? Definitely a blue collar type place which is right up my alley. They recently changed ownership and the new owners want to go the craft beer route. I wholeheartedly approve. The beer list is quite good. Approximately 15 taps all craft. BMC is relegated to the bottles. On draft they had Hercules, Double Trouble, Siberian Night, the obligatory B2H and several other very interesting beers. Higher gravity beers poured in 10 oz. tulips. Others in standard shaker glasses. No frozen mugs. On the food side we ordered the wings and I thought they were exceptional. Very large with 10 or so different flavors available. I think these could be the best wings I have had in Charlotte (Hops-Independence was the previous title holder). Now for the service. It was so bad it became a source of amusement for us as we wondered how much worse it could get. I had to chase down my waitress every time we needed something. Once she was reading a book, another time chatting with friends, another time not in the restaurant at all. Maybe worst service I have ever had in Charlotte (although she was nice so I want to mention that). No drawing paper or crayons for the kids, there are individual TV's at each booth (big plus) but they didn't know how to change the channels individually (bummer). If I could put Nickelodeon on in my booth that could occupy the kids and buy me 1-2 extra beers. Hopefully the new management will make some changes here regarding service and being more family friendly. They did have a very reasonably priced kids menu and generous portions. My kids gave the chicken tenders two greasy little thumbs up. Given the food quality, beer selection/price and plenty of TV's I will return and hope for better service.

This was Picasso's for a long time and the new owners have pretty much left the building exactly the same as it's always been - dark, clean, comfortable working man's bar. The menu is standard pub food done well; they make a mean calzone & their wings are very good.

What they've changed is the beer. There are 28 drafts and many are high quality tough-get brews. My first trip here was for a Southern Tier tap takeover. I hit the place every other day for weeks until those babies were drained. Hey, gotta do my part for the local biz.

The service was fairly average, I mean - it could have been better but the place was pretty packed so, what do you expect?

Cool comfy spot - good food & good beer. Give 'em a call and see what they've got, there's lots of turnover in their draft lineup.
