Style: American IPA

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 6.00%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
Our Threadless/Finch collaboration IPA is a balanced experience of both perceived hoppiness and true bitterness. It pours a darker amber color and finishes with a citrus flavor, and when combined, will require this to be the last IPA you ever drink! Well, maybe, we realize you will probably drink more, but the result of this recipe clearly evolves into a very balanced IPA. The grain bill on this big pale includes melanoidin and Victory malts. We hop it up before the boil starts with some Columbus first wort hopping, then add a bunch more for bittering.

A: The beer is slightly hazy dark amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short off white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of citrusy malts are present in the nose along with hints of biscuit malts.
T: The taste is similar to the smell, except the flavors of citrusy hops and biscuit malts are stronger and in similar proportions. There is just about a moderate amount of bitterness. Slight hints of caramel malts are also perceptible. Overall, the malts seem to become stronger once the beer begins to warm up.
M: It feels medium-bodied and somewhat crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and has a good balance between the malts, particularly as it warms up.

16 oz can

Pour is hazed darker almond amber, appropriate tiny bubble sheen , low sheeting and fine spotty lacing. Fresh hops on the nose - tropical with some pine

Well crafted IPA. Beefy citric and herbal hops. Yummy maple malt notes. Densely flavorful and sturdy brew.

This is the second brew I have tried from Finch's....impressed....maybe I should visit Chicago this summer...
