16 ounce pint - Taco Mac in Woodstock, Georgia.

Appearance: Served up a crystal clear, effervescent, light yellow body with an off-white, foaming head.

Smell: Set against a minor, muted wheat nose, scents of resiny, pithy, piny, steely hops announce an impeding bitterness.

Taste: A meager crackery wheat maltiness with little sweetness incorporated that briefly retreats. Citric, resinous-edged piney hops with a moderate bitterness to remains until the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.

Overall: Those with an appetite for a hoppier wheat may be pleased, but, those of us looking for a more refreshing will be left disappointed.

Draft at Marie's, served in a branded weizen glass.

Clear golden orange, spotty lace all around the edges. Broken skim across the surface.

Butterscotch aroma, hello diacetyl. Bleh.

Taste is similar but has a biscuity malt presence and soft wheat graininess.

Feel is borderline, watery but slightly smooth from the wheat. Wondering if it's just dirty lines at the bar accounting for the butter notes, though can't be sure. Overall a one and done. Wanted to give these guys another chance but they're not doing anyone proud.

Honestly this beer is hard to nail down.

It's got some european hops with a slight funk kick on the aftertaste. Fairly full mouthfeel for a wheat beer. It looks darker than you would expect for the style.

Large off-white head with minimal lacing.

Smell is kind of bland saisony.

Pours into an inperial pint a hazed orange infused light golden with a thinner well sustained white head atop.Aromas are very light with some toasted wheat grain mainly. There is a real nice mouthfeel wich keeps the beer from feeling to light,it has some actual body for the style.Grainy and toasted on the palate with a hint of pine but it's light,I even get a bit of nuttiness wich isnt bad.Man is this easy to drink, not flavor packed but good for a Memorial day grilling session.

16 oz can w/o any freshness info that I can find

Pours clouded dull lighter amber, frothy and looser eggshell head.

Light wheaty malts on the nose

Lighter feeling but no less aggressive with the hops then the other Finch's beers. In general an easy drinking wheat brew, with some dull lemon, grapefruit and lime coming to mind.

I like it- an APWA with more character, and hop presence then typically found for the style

Had on tap at the Pig & Fiddle and from a can poured into a weizen glass.
A: Pale straw under a 1” white foam collar that clings to the glass leaving sheets of lace.
S: citrusy hops some grass, wheat but no banana and or clove.
T: Rich with some white bread flavors and a big hop presence.
F: Creamy, medium full body, medium high carbonation, slightly astringent on the finish.
O: Sharp, crisp tasty and refreshing. Good blend of wheat and hop.

Finch's Beer Co. "Wet Hot American Wheat"
16 oz. can, no freshness dating

Appearance: Fingerprints-through-the-glass clear. (Looking into the can I see a solid ring of sediment at the bottom). Deep golden body. Short head of creamy white foam. Slightly better than average head retention and lacing.

Aroma: Piney, citrusy hops. Spicy. Straightforward grainy malt.

Flavor: Wheat is clear within the maltiness. Slightly biscuity. Piney, citrusy hops. Spicy. Lemony. Yeasty. Solidly bitter. Finishes dry and spicy with dull residual hops.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and crisp with a bristling carbonation.

Overall: Pretty much what you'd expect it to be. No surprises here.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a bright golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, lemony. Taste is tart, lemons, a bit of wheat, decent but not as refreshing/thirst quenching as is usual for the style. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.
