Rerate, 330 ml bottle, as Kinn Svarthumle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.5%. Some sediment in the bottle. Opaque very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate to low beige head. Roasty aroma, distinct notes of chocolate malts, also fruity and piney hops. Roasty and hoppy flavour, a moderate sweetness, notes of dark chocolate and coffee, also piney and resinous notes, with a bitter finish, both from the hops and the roast malts. Original rating, as Løkka Svarthumle: On tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus. Black colour, decent beige head. Dstinctly hoppy aroma and flavour, quite dry and bitter. The roasty notes are there, but more subdued.

33cl bottle. Dark brown pour, unfiltered, with a lot of residues at the end of the pour. Tall beige head with medium retention. Visible carbonation. Smells of roasted malts, cocoa and dark chocolate - almost like a porter. Bitter and smoky taste, with notes of dark chocolate and wood smoke, as well as some resinous hops. Refreshing.

The colour is very dark brown-red, almost red. The liquid is clear. The finger thick head sinks quickly down to an off-white lid leaving no lacing.

The smell is bitter and dry with roasted malts. Hints of smoke, charcoal dark chocolate and black treacle.

The taste is roasted with clean bitterness. Some black-malt sour flavours. Lemon-lime, liquorice, passing sweet fruity flavours. Medium to full body. The aftertaste is smooth with some alcohol, citric peels, lemon-lime soda, citric peels and unripe plums. The finish is roasted/burned with harsh fruits.

The carbonation is strong, the small fresh bubbles are long-lived. The liquid is semi-smooth.

Yet another hoppy stout with a BIPA label. Well well well...
