Pours light hazy red-brown with rocky off-white heat that dissipates to dense ring that keeps till end of the glass. Some downsliding lacing.

Aroma is light acidic earthy sweet with some cherry in the first moments, but it could not be detected later so easlily. Taste is light sourish and mildly acidic sweet cherry with very dry finish. Mouthfeel is medium with quite high carbonation.

Overall, not bad, but I would have expected it to be just slightly more sour. Then it would be perfect.

Bright cherry red. Abundant pink foam.
Fruity smell, cherry and raspberry.
A bit of sweetness in the taste, but even a quite lot of cherry stones.
Light but present sourness, a bit of help to clean the sweetness.
Fruity, clean, easy. Maybe a bit too mild, but ok.

Pours a dark rose, pretty pinkish cap.

Mostly cherry, maple syrup, oak, raisin.

Not sure what bugs are in this but they are a mellow bunch. Cherries are sweet rather than sour. Some earthy notes in the background but overall subdued - the distinctive flavor being the cherry.

Mouthfeel is sticky.

This isn't bad, compared to their gueuze though this is crap.

I feel like Giradin is criminally underrated compared to all the attention given to Cantillon and Drie Fonteinen. I think this compares very favorably to fruit lambics from those two breweries. Nice pink color. Aroma is heavy cherry, slightly reminiscent of cherry sucrets. Slight bread or is it butter in the aroma as well, not unpleasant. Flavor is sweet cherry, extremely fruity. This is definitely a showcase for the fruit, its not real funky and not really sour at all. I think it is better than Cantillon Kriek because it is not as abrasive.

A 375ml corked and caged bottle. The cork had the words Diam AX 2017 and the number 01 on it, which I think I’ve worked it out to mean Batch A, bottled in January 2016. Poured into a Cantillon ballon glass.

Appearance: A clear ruby red colour with a one finger pinkish head that dissipates quickly while leaving some lacing.

Aroma: Cherry Lifesaver hard candy. What this means is cherry, almond and lightly artificial, although this aroma is right up my alley.

Taste: Sour cherry and grapes with an interesting hint of vanilla.

Mouthfeel: Crisp, light bodied with moderate to high carbonation.

Overall: The aroma was wonderful, and while the taste didn’t quite match up to the aroma, it was still great to drink.
