Visited Jimmy's after it being recommended by several people for good beer and great food, the recommendations proved true. Jimmy's is family style restaurant/bar with a great craft beer selection!

I admit that I didn't stray from Troeg's Nugget Nectar once I saw it was available on draft, but why would I? Went perfect with my fish and chips, which were awesome!

My girlfriend ordered steak with baked potato, the bite I was given made me jealous... for a second. Took a sip of Nugget Nectar and a french fry to get over it.

Great beer... and great food... equals great place...

Excellent small town downtown pub which features a consistently updated draft beer list literally something new every week. If you like IPA and Double IPAs you'll be very happy. Bartenders will let you sample anything before committing to your selection of the night. Menu has a lot of variety from various salads, fish tacos, sirloin and the best blackened salmon in Southeaster Mass. Request pub side for dining as the atmosphere albeit a bit loud on Friday nights, is vibrant and positive.

What a local bar/pub should feel like. Plenty of wall hangings (many from local breweries) with a few tvs tuned to the latest game. A small selection of beer on tap with a number of locals (Harpoon, Plymouth, Canton). While not the widest selection, the fact that they are from local establishments adds to the feel of the Pub as a local hangout. Add in quality food (their sandwiches are made from quality meets and their pickles are nice and sour) and this is a great place to grab a bite or have a beer.

Stopped in on a random Wednesday night for drinks with a friend. I was pretty impressed with the tap list. Guinness, Sierra Nevada, Harpoon Winter Warmer were not unusual; Rogue Yellow Snow, Tröegs Mad Elf, Allagash White, and Green Flash WC IPA were pleasant surprises. Wachusett Blueberry was served with blueberries in the glass. Bartender seemed to know his way around craft beer.

Bill was $24 for three drafts and a chicken quesadilla. Most appetizers and sandwiches are under ten bucks.

Vibe of the place was that of a friendly local tavern. By 7:30 the bar was standing room only and there was a wait for a table. I'm not ever in Mansfield, but it's a great meeting place if you're in the area.

Jimmy's Pub has good pub style food in a cozy, if not outdated atmosphere (but in a "we're not going to change a good thing" kind of way). Food is good and portions are pretty big for a reasonable price. You can't really go wrong with any of the food, but people seem to like the deep fried Monte Christo sandwich and the Prime Rib is quite good.

They have about 15 taps. One is always Guinness, one Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, and one is always Bud Light. Other than that they rotate a bunch of different crafts. They also have beer dinners from time to time. I went to a Tröegs dinner and unfortunately missed the Allagash dinner a month or two later.

All in all Jimmy's is a good place to go if you are in the area.

UPDATE 9/15/2012 - Jimmy's has removed the Bud Light tap and replaced it with a craft offering!
