22 oz bottle. Pours ruby red amber with a medium creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is sweet sugary nutty caramel malts with some tropical fruit and resiny hops and a little sharp alcohol.

The flavor is sweet nutty caramel malts, ripe fruit and resiny, piney, grassy hops. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice big hoppy red.

new bottle just launched from copper kettle. affordable beer at under ten bucks for a 9% abv brew, i like that. its everything you want from a big red ipa too, rich caramel malt profile, drying itself right up, and a ton of body as a platform for citrus hop bitterness thats so resinous and intense as to almost be chewy, yet put together carefully and intentionally in a way that makes it both well crafted and unique. its what i wish beers like my bloody valentine and its peers came out tasting like, frothy and big in mouthfeel, well carbonated and while sweet and malty all the way through, dry in the finish. more copper than red in the color really, with an almost honey-like texture to it. the nose rains down citrus hops aromas, grapefruit peel and orange are there, but so is a really strong bitterness, this baby is well over 100 IBUs, but its not sloppy at all like some of these tend to be, its all carefully layered, and this puts copper kettle on a new rung of the ladder in my mind. outstanding red ipa, but definitely a bottle to slow sip or share, it can sneak right up on you...
