Avoid eating at this sports bar since the food is overpriced and downright awful. Everything is deep fried or twice fried with zero balance. Uninspiring menu even by bar menu standards. I would rate the food 1 out of 10 along with unprofessional food service from the staff.

However ...it's a nice place to sit down and watch a game while drinking beer. Quick service from the bartender, but don't expect much from your waiter. Lots of TVs and a digital projector with several games playing, and there really isn't a bad viewing angle from a TV screen. Decent selection of beer - they do carry 512, Austin Beerworks, and Live Oak which will go perfectly for watching a UT game.

In summary ...
Beer/sports: good
Food/service: terrible

The Draft Pick has a cool angle for a craft bar in that only Texas Craft brews are on tap. Everything else is bottle only. 512, St. Arnold, Real Ale, Rahr, and Shiner are among the 32 rotating draft selections.

I started off with a 512 Pecan Porter, then an Austin Amber, and finished off the evening with a Phoenixxx E.S.B. All three were fresh and served in room temp pint glasses. For those who aren't as sure of their selection, sampler flights are available.

The food is great (awesome burgers) and the staff in knowledgeable without being intrusive or arrogant. The Draft Pick provides a great sports bar atmosphere with a superior craft beer selection considering the Texas craft theme. The only knock would be that some winter seasonals were still left on the menu, but I should have known Iron Thistle wouldn't have been available, and if it were, not fresh enough.

I'll be sure to visit this place every time I go back to Austin. Great overall experience. Even the BMC-loving father-in-law got into the spirit and sampled the variety of brews available.
