for the style, mango beer, an excellent attempt and a very drinkable/sessionable beer.

A smooth, mango taste and a very easy drinking beer, with barely any bitterness. My wife loves this beer and would be popular with drinkers who like something a bit sweeter or different. Would be a brilliant beer to have in summer, while relaxing and socialising by the beach.

Pours orange gold with practically no head.
Nose shows mango, faint malt and wheat. Mostly mango though.
Same mango as a flavour but it comes off somewhat cloying with little in the way of back flavours, just some faint hay notes.
Carbonation is a little full on.
An interesting fruit beer, I would have liked a drier, more refreshing slant.

Pale gold plus draft pour with thin white head; ok cap and not much lacing. Sweet mango nose. Sweet mango flavor. Moderate plus carbonation and watery mouthfeel. Overall, it hits the mark for tasting like mangos, but it was overly sweet.

Very sweet beer, smells nice but a sickly aftertaste. Not a fan of fruit beers but after a trip to Broome decided to give this a try. Will probably have another go later on.

A: Pours a golden color with a small head that fades to bits of lacing.

S: Aroma of mango.

T: Taste of mango with bit of grain in the background. No real bitterness and a lingering sticky mango after taste.

F: Light body and sweet, way too sweet.

O: Not a fan of fruity beers.

Great beer if you like them fruity. The colour is a little yellow, which is a bit off putting. You can genuinely taste the mango. Great for those lovers of sweet mango wine. Best served ice cold in tropical weather, throw out Mai Tai's and drink mango beer.

Pours a shiny clear gold, whispy head - white colour - and decent lace. Looks quite malty, but not very impressive.

Smells very fruity, with good belt of stonefruit, passionfruit tang, some pomegranate and not much malt; maybe slight metallic note. Subdued, not uninteresting but really not sure what to make of it.

Taste is sooo sweet. Yuck. Insipid tangy fruit, virtually nothing else. Apple juice largely with pear, passionfruit and slight citrus character late, bit of zest. But it's bland, weak, way too sweet. Starts at the bottom of a flavour valley and bores downhill.

Actually a bit of body with slight, very gentle fizz. Very dry as well. I'm more impressed than i was with the taste, but it's still not great.

It's bland, overly sweet and fruity and not beer-like at all. Not a fan. Beer, meet drain.

Purchased from the International Beer Shop in Perth.

Pours a very clear yellow colour, bright and vibrant, with a filmy head of pale white bubbles around the edge. Light and bright, it looks visually quite appealing. Not bad.

Nose is weird and funky, with artificial mango characters coming through with a hint of medicinal peah, and an undesirable whiff of ass. Rather green, funky and organic, with a natural methane cloud. The mango is tropical and pleasant enough, but it mixes very oddly with the rest of the aromas. Urr...

Taste is grainy and slightly yeasty on the front, before the mango sweetness tries valiantly to draw the palate back in the direction it was intended. It seems as though it puts all its effort into one thrust mid palate, meaning some organic and funky yeast manages to sneak in on the back, along with a husky grain that just adds rankness to the overt sweetness.

Pass. A poor base beer cannot be saved or masked by the addition of fruit, and that's what we have here. Mango isn't a necessarily unpleasant character in a beer (although I've not seen it used well), but here it just adds unsubtle and unnuanced sickly sweet notes to a beer that is rank and forgettable.

A - Clear sparkling apple juice like appearance, no head no matter how aggressive the pour. Lacing? ha, no.

S - Sweet mango and cheap crappy white wine.

T - Artificially sweet mango flavouring and not much else.

M - Light body, moderately carbonated. Not a bad swigger on a hot day.

O - An interesting idea for a summer thirst quencher. Mango is a lovely fruit but this is a bit sickly sweet for my liking.

Shared with mrs heygeebee...

Pours a zero finger quickly subsiding head - clear light straw - and I mean light coloured!

Aromas of mango puree - with added sugar.

Taste is sweet, sickly. all mango, no bitterness. Suitable dessert beer.

Mouthfeel is actually ok - zingy and carbonated - at odds with look.

Overall - meh...

Bottle: stylish 330mL brown bottle, label is a bit cheesy /poorly drawn. Still, interesting packaging.

Appearance: light yellow in colour with reasonably high carbonation and a thin, filmy white head. Not unpleasant looking at all.

Aroma: a huge wave of sickly-sweet mango attacked my senses as soon as I popped the top. Touch of passionfruit also. A little overwhelming.

Taste: quite pleasant if a little sweet. Tastes pretty much like a pleasant, traditional-style mango fizzy drink.

Aftertaste: doesn't linger too long at all - just that sugary-sweet mango.

Mouthfeel: nicely done for the style, with a decent amount of carbonation to make it a fun drink.

Overall: really, all you are looking at here is a slightly alcoholic, extremely expensive mango fizzy drink. It is reasonably pleasant, but certainly not worth having again.

Interesting that I found this in a mega-store in Melbourne (which is as far away from very remote Broome as one can be and still be in Australia.) So Matso's is reasonably heavily reviewed on BA. Been around awhile and have a following and, it seems, do fun marketing. (Who says you can't live at the end of the Earth and not have an impact?)

Mango Beer hit the spot and did its job on a hotter-than-hell day in Melbourne. Cleared the palate, salivated the glands and made me wish I had bought a second for the heat wave. Also, best to share... since the sweet mango can overwhelm one set of buds... and try not to pick your sharee from the likes who are not open to alternative brews for a hot climate.

A pale golden colour with a light foamy white head. Low carbonation visible. For a fruity summer beer you would expect a more lively appearance.

Smell is of mango, syrup based. Its fairly obviously an extract mango. Slight skunk or kink of off aroma in the tail. Not bad.

Taste is very sweet and fruity, mango flavour is quite obviously an extract and very strong. Initially this beer is borderline over the top but it does get better the more you drink it. The mango dulls and you are left with a sweet sticky residue on the tongue. A simple hop profile as a good balance at the end.

It is a fruit beer and I feel some very negative reviews do forget that when they score it. Based on the style traits and characteristics i would say this is not a bad beer although at times It does come across as brewed on a budget.

Bottle. Light gold, clear, poor head retention. Mango, tropical fruit aromas. Sweet mango with almost no other flavour profiles. Very sweet beer well it's not called mango for nothing.

Appearance: Deep light golden colour, with a thin white head. Almost no lacing.

Aroma: Fresh mango (obviously), but also some passionfruit, malt sweetness, citrus, and a touch of fresh paper.

Taste: Very sweet and very strong mango, with the malt aspects taking the back seat. A little bit of passionfruit and citrus, with a barely perceptible hops bitterness in the aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Medium-high body and medium-high carbonation. The carbonation actually helps keep the mango sweetness in check.

Overall: Perfect for a hot summer day (or any day up in Broome!). This is a fruit beer with the emphasis on the fruit, definitely not for those who expect all beers to taste like beer! I thought that this was delicious, but definitely did not conform to expectations. I personally thought that the mango was very fresh tasting, and couldn't detect any "artificial" aspects as other reviewers claim.

As a disclaimer I love mangos and have a bit of a sweet tooth, so this was a match made in heaven.
