No canning date.

Appearance: Pours a semi-translucent medium caramel color with barely any head. The thin film of froth on top is off-white in color.

Aroma: Light citrus with a helping of peppery biscuit.

Taste: Lots of caramel malt with earthy bitterness throughout. The finish and aftertaste bring through a bit of orange citrus. Unfortunately some of the hops mentioned on the label, citra, amarillo, tend to not have lasting flavor and aroma and I don't detect their presence. Considering this is a summer release I'd guess it's about 6 months out. The flavor has a whole is still quite sound, if a little uninteresting, which means they've done a great job packaging to keep oxygen out.

Mouthfeel: Medium in body with a bit of a syrupy feel and low carbonation for the style. Average drinkability.

Final Thoughts: Despite the artwork on the can making this look like something you'd find in your grandmother's pantry, the beer inside Castle Danger's cans tends to be pretty good. Although I'm sure this would score much higher when fresh, it says a lot that there's no oxidation and the base beer has held it's own without help from the more flighty hops. Would I drink it again? Yes, hope to make it up to the brewery someday soon.

Very easy drinking IPA that is dangerous at the 7% abv. The hop bill of Citra, Azacca, Amarillo and Centennial is very noticeable in the flavor with sharp orange, tart grapefruit, light tropical notes, and hints of pine and spice. The aroma is similar but lighter than expected. The mouthfeel is extremely creamy and smooth, but not quite ideal as the finish isn't quite as dry and crisp as desired. Very drinkable overall.

Pours a clear, amber/gold colour. Smells like pine resin and citrus hops, with a slight maltiness. Tastes like orange zest, and slight bitter hops; very light and refreshing.

Poured from a 12 oz. can into a chalice.

Appearance: Pours a fairly hazy golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. Solid finger of white head that settles into a thin creamy layer.

Smell: A juicy and dank hop forward aroma with a scent of citrus, pine, and grass. Upfront citrus hop hints of orange peel, grapefruit, tangerine, melon, lemon, and apricot. Earthy and herbal scent of pine resin and cannabis. Also some grassy and floral hints. Background pale malt hints of grains, caramel, and yeast. A very good hoppy aroma.

Taste: Like it smells, a nice juicy and dank hop driven taste with notes of citrus fruit, pine, and grass. Citrus hop notes of grapefruit, orange peel, lemon, tangerine, apricot, and melon. Earthy, herbal, and floral hops with some notes of pine resin and grass. Backing malt notes of caramel, grains, and yeast. Nicely bitter and juicy. A pretty good taste.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Juicy, chewy, and fairly oily. Drying finish.

Overall: A very good take on an IPA. Good citrus and earthy hop flavors with a solid malt backing.

What a nice, fresh IPA. I get a huge whiff of green hops when I bring my nose to the glass. The favor ranges from mango and peach to lemon and pine. The beer finishes dry and smooth with a tub of grapefruit. Great IPA, truly an ode to hops. Reminds me of Hill Farmstead's Grassroots IPA.

Slight chill haze accompanies this amber beer as well as a finger of head that has good retention. Some sticky lacing gets left down the glass during consumption.

Aroma is a mixture of citrus and floral hops. There is a little dankness as well.

Quite the hop flavor but not brutally bitter. Hop bill consists of Citra, Azacca, Amarillo and Centennial. I like two of those hops, unfamiliar with one, and hate one. But they all blend nicely together with a nice tropical fruit, citrus, and floral flavors. The malt adds enough sweetness to give some balance to the beer but little in the way of flavor.

Impressive body that feels full and has enough carbonation to liven the taste buds.

A really enjoyable IPA that feels, tastes, and smells big, but does not punish the palate with bitterness. Reasonably priced as well.

Hazy, murky golden amber hue. Smell is very juicy fruit. Very fruity tasting, tropical rather than citrusy. Mild bitterness, thick mouthfeel. Very crushable. Dangerous at 7%
