Good
SarkaSarka
Notes: A balanced blend of sweet biscuity malt and noble hops, this beer is perfect to enjoy with friends. Its beautiful golden yellow color is inviting in itself but the real prize is in the glass. A classic example of a Bohemian-Style Pilsner.

Named after Bohemian warrior Sarka and her rebel maidens, who ambushed a group of soldiers after tricking them into drinking mead that made them fall asleep

This is the seventh in a run-through of beers that came to me CANtesy of @jkblr for inCANsion in The CANQuest (tm). I remain grateful for the hook-ups!

From the CAN: "Sarka Pilsner"; "Drink Legendary!"; "The warrior Sarka/Tied herself to a tree/cried to her foes, 'Help!/Come set me free'/Feeling heroic they loosened her ropes./In thanks she poured mead/and they drank it, the dopes./Suddenly drowsy, they fell fast asleep,/and stone cold Miss Sarka/made 'em dead meat./This Pilsner's no trick/but a treat for your thirst/as cool and as crafty as Sarka the First!" 8=O

A warrior princess & poetry with a CAN of Czech Pils?!? I may have arrived at my destination!

I Crack!ed open the vent only to be shocked to realize that, in her day, Sarka may have been a squirter! She let loose with a fingertip spritz that was unCANticipated before I beCAN my slow, steady, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. Once more, she erupted, bringing forth two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with very good retention! Mymy. Color was an oh-so-faintly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose was redolent with the grassy, hay-like scent of Saaz/Noble hops with just the faintest trace of dry biscuity malt. 8=O Not even my go-to Pilsner Urquell smells this good! Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about on-par for a Lager. The taste was all Noble hops with a pleasant grassy bitterness & almost no malt to get in its way. 8=O This was the kind of beer that, once I "discovered" it, meant that I need no longer be solely reliant on AIPAs to satiate my hops jones. Man, was this goood! Finish was crispy dry, really well done. YMMV.

12oz CANNED ON 05/19/20 (over 3 months ago) poured into a becher glass at fridge temp 4.8% ABV. The beer hefe-hazy in a dull golden straw yellow with off white head. The head recedes to fat ring of loose bubbles. The aroma is mild with 2-row malt and some floral & herbal hops. The taste is grainy 2-row with a hint of toasted malt and tang finished off by earthy moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is thin bodied with average plus carbonation and a dry finish. Overall, good. This is a great little lager, clean and refreshing. Scored as a German Pilsner.

Nice looking beer with a nearly clear golden hue and a medium sized white head. Sturdy lacing in the glass. Clean aroma with floral hop notes and slightly sweet bready grain. Taste followed. Moderate bitterness with the above notes. A nice slightly sweet grainy aspect. Medium bodied and carbonated. Overall this was well done to style. Recommended.

Beer pour a deep gold with an inch of foam which dissipated after a few minutes. Bready/cracker malt aroma, flavor was the same with some crisp hops to balance. Refreshing and satisfying. A solid pils I wouldn't mind having on my regular rotation during the warmer months,

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured a clear golden with thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had faint hints of biscuit. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bread start and slight hop finish. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a decent beer.
