"Ale brewed with maple syrup". 5% Alcohol by volume. Purchased at Kroger's in Nashville.
Dogfish Head nonic pint.

Has a light bronze-honey color and a tall creamy beige head of 3 fingers, receding to 1 eventually. Lots of lace left on this glass.

Maple syrup is there alright, but it's definitely got a "lived in" aroma, not sweet or approachable, just...."yep, they used some maple somewhere in here". Slight honey tones, and lots of nutty/dusty malt.

Flavor is green like a pilsner, with the straw bitterness and gray colored malt; slight dry nuts after that, and some bitter hop plant matter mixed with a touch of woody maple.

Feel is crisp and thin. Hangs on the palate a bit too long.

Overall, not impressed with this one. It drinks like a pilsner, tastes like one too, and there's not much here to really warrant me finishing it.

On tap at the brewery. Pours brown with tall, long lasting, fluffy, off-white head and nice lacing. Taste is of herbal hops, toffee, dark fruit, brown sugar, coffee, maple syrup and caramel malt. Body is medium and smooth. Finish is long and semi-sweet. Nice brew.

On tap at songwriter night at the Somewhere SOS. Tastes like it looks. Toffee and Maple, with enough hops to balance it out. Not complex, but very drinkable.

A. Clear, dark, deep Amber color. Not much head off the draft, though... Could be the cleanliness of the glass. The taste is very malty. I detect the maple in the noise, but not in the taste, so much.
Just a typical Brown Ale, as far as I'm concerned... Nothing special.

A: very dark Amber the light that does get through fairly good clarity not much head

S: light roasted malts a little toffee getting a little corn smell

T: tastes like a brown ale a little bit of nut and roast malty with a little bit of a sweetness on the finish

M: medium mouth slightly over carbonated on the tongue

O: this is brewed with Vermont maple syrup can not taste that at all just an average brown ale. Would not seek this out.

i love all things maple, and this is a maple brown, so i love it. very very light on the roast and on the chocolate malt elements, it has as much of an amber ale thing going on as anything else, but it really works. the maple is there, faint but its there. it adds a cool thick sweetness in an otherwise very light very brown ale. the chocolate malt is pleasant but subtle, and there is a distinct sweet nutty thing going on, candied almonds and the like, with an espresso note on the finish before the residual maple sugar kicks in. its not as complex as i am making it sound, but its pretty well layered, and very well built. these guys are totally new to me, but its neat to see some inventive beers of theirs. i didnt know their was much maple in tennessee, which i guess makes me like that state even more, but as will all maple beers, i wish for more maple on this one. more carbonation would also help it, but it has a lot going for it, and is a very sessionable take on a brown ale. nicely done.

Poured into a Shaker pint glass. A slightly hazy medium to dark brown with a modest light tan head. Aroma was subtle maple along with caramel and roast. The taste followed. A nice restrained maple presence balanced nicely by the floral hops. Clean caramel and roasty flavor. Easy to drink and well made.

Been searching for similar beers to Samuel Adams Winter lager and this one blew it out of the water. Thick foam head that lasted to the last drop. Not too bitter and just enough sweet. Thick and smooth. I couldn't get enough.

Pint at the Flying Saucer in Nashville, had to try something local.
Standard pint glass, murky chesnut brown with a light beige head.
Lots of sweetness in the smell, chocolate, brown sugar.
Flavors were on the sweeter side, brown sugar taste dominated. Also some chocolate and then finished a bit earthy hops.
Moderate mouth, body and carbonation.

Poured into a standard pint glass a murky chesnut brown with a thinner light beige head atop,I was in a darkly lit bar so I didn't get the best look of the beer. Some pretty big sweetness in the nose, chocolate malts, brown sugar, and some light sweet maple.Flavors were on the sweeter side for my liking, brown sugar flavors stood out most with the added maple giving off more sweetness, there is some dryer bitter chocolate and mild earthiness in the finish but it's stille pretty sweet. Not bad and for those who like a more rich sweeter brown this is it,as for me I like em a little more earthy/dry.

T - Roast, hints of chocolate and maple and a good bitterness with pine and floral hope notes and a moderate bitterness. Very good integration of the hop profile with the malt bill.

Had on tap at Flying Saucer in Nashville.

Beer pours a hazy brown color. Almost like a heffeweizen, but brown. Not much head other than a slightly oily top to the beer.

Beer smells very malty and you can definately smell the maple syrup that was used.

The maple syrup is very present in the taste. Very sweet before fading into more balanced maltiness.

Mouthfeel is a bit thick and very little carbonation.

Overall, not a bad maple brown beer.
