On-tap at Lake Tahoe AleWorX Stateline, Stateline, NV

A: The beer is hazy amber in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that consistently left a short head covering the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of orange citrus are present in the nose along with hints of caramel malts.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of orange and grapefruit citrus along with hints of caramel hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness. The flavors of grapefruit linger into the finish.
M: It feels nearly medium-bodied and slightly crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This Imperial IPA has nice flavors of orange and grapefruit. It hides its alcohol very well.

Clear, golden color and a think head kicks things off. Light boozy aroma. The taste carries a fairly strong hoppiness with a subtle, but noticeable bitter finish.

Ahh brings back memories of the Twisted Manzanita Chaotic Double. Only this is a bit lighter. Good beer but for the price I’ll stick with offerings from Ballast Point.

A thanks to the legendary woodychandler for this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has an orange/copper color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is surprisingly malty, some pine. Taste is resin, pine, malts are present, considerable bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer.

A typical DIPA with a load of hop and sweet malt to balance. Its not as boozy as most 2IPA'S or as hoppy. Had a sweet mouthfeel finish to the hops. Not bad but so much competition this is not one i would buy again.

I got a can of this from a beer store in concord, OH. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had hints of pine malt. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt and bitter citrus conflict. The mouthfeel is lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it's a decent beer.

Picked up a single from TW Arrowhead 10-9-17. Canned on 7-18-17 but stored in the beer fridge since purchase.

Beer poured orange with a very nice white head that hung around for the duration of the can.

Nose was floral and citrus which was fairly fresh surprisingly.

Taste was old school double IPA. Large malt base melded fairly well with the floral and citrus flavor profile. Finish was green and resiny.

Mouthfeel was heavy, definitely old school.

Overall a decent offering, likely a one and done brew.

This beer has a really good floral bouquet. It is not a hop bomb. You can smell the hops but you don't have a lot of bitterness. It's a real silly smooth mouth feel. I'm really enjoying it. As are my buddies we all got one at a craft brew bar here in Korea!

Big bitter sweetness here. From the nose to the flavor. Resin is what I take away most. The heavy bitterness settles in with the malty sweetness and the smallest hint of citrus.

This is a big beer and an excellent value. It tries very hard and largely succeeds. Two month old can, BTW.

It pours from the can slightly cloudy with medium sized bubbles. The aroma is faint but sweet and hoppy. The taste is a big, unruly mouthful of hops and malts that hit you pretty hard. As you drink it you become acclimated to the big bitter sweetness and it is quite pleasant.

Recommended, especially at $1.50/can.

L: Pours a hazy golden color with a thin white head and some real nice lacing.
S: Hops pine resin and floral stands out.
T: Hop forward for sure.
F: Medium body smooth mouth feel good malt to hops balance.
O: I nice double IPA maybe underrated . A true 80 IBU's for sure.

22oz bottle - holy big 'C' hops, Batman! Looking forward to what's coming here, believe you me!

This beer pours a mostly clear, pale golden amber colour, with a fistful of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly ecru head, which leaves some random and awkwardly skewed webbed lace around the glass as it lazily subsides.

It smells of gritty and grainy caramel malt, juicy orange/white grapefruit/apricot fruity notes, a touch of earthy flintiness, and some heady leafy, herbal, and resinous piney green hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy caramel malt, muddled domestic citrus flesh, a still prominent hard water stoney essence, hints of a more exotic fruitiness, and some further weedy, grassy, and piney verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is fairly active in its assertive frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and actually more or less smooth, in a don't ask, don't tell sort of manner. It finishes off-dry, the base malt suffering, but not all that much, in terms of the lingering caress of hop love duly, oh so duly requited.

Overall - it's been a long, long time since I've experienced the in yo face impression that I remember from the first time I tried a well-made American DIPA, when all those sirens and 'warming' flags went off in the various reaches of my yet untainted palates. Yes, this is a sort of coming home party for me, even if I have never darkened the doorstep of any establishment in this No-Cal near-seaside burg.

Amber/Copper/Burnt Orange color. Hops are pleasantly sedate. Aromas of Orangey/Apricotish notes, very pleasant. The 8.5% ABV is nicely hidden, guess I'll have to trust the numbers on the bottle. The finish is smooth w/ nice aftertaste. Only regret is that I only bought 1 ( in a sample of various in a 6 pk). Will look for it again, I recommend this.

Thanks to corpulent for popping one of these a few months ago while playing golf.

Pours a combo of that orange and copper color you're used to seeing in an ipa, good viscosity, this ain't no weak beer. 1/2" off white head. Not a pungent Citra hop but it is there and in good proportion to make your nose notice even though it doesn't saturate it with Citra.

All the other C hops make for a nice medley taste wise. There's plenty of the sweet caramel in the mouth feel and a bitterness that isn't excessive. Hides the alcohol well. This is the best thing Lost Coast makes. Pleasantly surprised. Good relatively dry finish despite all the malt heft to it.

On-tap served in a pint glass at Wishbeer, Bangkok.

Clear to only slightly hazed amber orange color, it comes with thick silky white head that withstands with good retention before slowly subsiding to an eternal frothy thin film atop and leaving numerous of sticky lacing wave all around.

The aroma of zesty grapefruit, lime, tropical fruits, floral, pine, resin, and some earthiness, all of these aromas are derived from its hoppy goodness while malt is there too with notes of orange candy, bread, and sweet caramel.

Hoppy takes the lead in the palate sensation with suggestions of grapefruit, tropical fruits, lime, some piney resin, and some grassiness yet earthiness. Malt lays in the background providing touch of toasted bread, biscuit, subtle sweet, and caramel. The end is hop again with its strong bitter kick through the taste buds that also well lingers in the aftertaste.

The body is medium with some bold touch through the palate, rather smooth mouthfeel with some lively crisp carbonation and some refreshing feel, very dry finish.

Solid DIPA, I would say, in term of bitterness and feeling, it is straightforward and pretty good overall. Alcohol is also pretty well concealed.

added on 8/3, bottled on 6/3... guess we're lagging a tad, eh? nice label art to cover for the lower than expected flavor of this malt-forward offering. sweet, bland... non-carbonated. non-eventful. almost regrettable..... but drinkable, i suppose....

Pours a hazy, maize color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Great retention and great lacing. Smells of tea, sweet malt, hint of earthy malt, hops, alcohol, and pale malt. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of strong sweet malt, tea, slight caramel malt, pale malt, hops, and alcohol. Overall, good appearance, decent aroma, body, and blend.

I like the unfiltered slightly cloudy appearance but would have hoped for more hoppy vs. mild aroma. Wonderful bold malty sweet tangy flavors up front that linger into contrasting resiny citrusy hop flavors. Mouthfeel and flavor is surprisingly big for the ABV.

Pours a hazy golden amber, huge frothy head with resinous lacing that doesn't go away...Aroma is a balanced blend of citrus, piney dankness, light bread undertone - delightful! Good level of bitterness up front, which is followed by a smooth and almost creamy mid body and a nice dry finish. This is definitely a beer to try, and I wish I had gotten it sooner!

Poured from 22 oz bottle into glass mug. Looks slightly murky orange/amber with a tan head. Smells of slight hops with a hint of flowers. Tastes of mellow hops and citrus with a floral undercurrent creeping through. Goes down smooth with a hoppy aftertaste. Not bad at all and it has an interesting label. Enjoy!

Bottled 12/31/15.

Pours a murky orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and grapefruit juice aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, grapefruit juice, and earthy hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with solid citrus forward hop characteristics all around.

Serving type: bottle.
