Murky tangerines dipped in golden honey, beneath an attractive French vanilla colored lid. Filtering beer takes away too much of its visual character, so I'm glad it wasn't done here. Although the foam is whipped creamy, it isn't sticky enough to leave more than several splotches of lace. No matter, the beer itself looks great.
Never mind the 'hint of tangerine' as claimed on the label, because the aroma is exploding with juicy fruit. I could even appreciate it when the glass was sitting on the desktop. The scent is natural rather than artificial, which is a plus. There is, however, an undercurrent of children's chewable aspirin, which better not be present on the palate.
It was probably too much to expect that Tangerine Wheat would taste as wonderful as it smells. Unfortunately, a moderate bitterness causes orange-flavored aspirin to dominate the flavor profile. The underlying wheat beer doesn't taste great either. Too grainy and bland.
There aren't any other flavors present, which isn't necessarily a sin in a fruit-based wheat beer. It's simply untoasted wheat, tangerine juice and a few pinches of crushed aspirin. A little more sweetness might have helped for balance's sake... and might have turned it into a pretty decent chick beer... which I've been known to drink on occasion... even though I'm a dude.
The mouthfeel is light, as the style demands, but it doesn't have enough carbonation. It feels thin during the front half of each mouthful and borderline flat during the back half.
Lost Coast Tangerine Wheat sounds like a pretty good idea. Too bad the execution leaves a little something to be desired. Indica IPA and 8 Ball Stout are still this brewery's best.

Two barriers to enjoying this. One, you likely need to be a fan of summer'y wheat beers, and two, okay with fruit flavors in your brew. If you check both of those boxes, then this is a perfect beer.

Look: Pours a clear orange and quickly, a fluffy white head forms and puckers away to a pillow, leaving spotty lacing behind
Aroma: Tangerine fruit and rind, light wheat malt, orange juice, and fruity notes. This smells straight up like a tangerine bomb
Taste: Opens up with a light floral note before the tangerine party ensues with loads of fruit, juice, and rind all in play. Wheat malt sneaks a peek in the middle and blends nicely before the tangerine train returns to close it out
Mouthfeel: Light but full, clean, spritzy carbonation and on the higher side, and clean and soft on the finish
Overall: I dig it. I’m admittedly not a fruit-in-beer guy but wanted to revisit and review this because I hadn’t had it in years, since first trying these folks’ offerings. A solid and refreshing American Wheat Ale with a nice fruit presence that doesn’t dominate nor taste artificial. Tasty stuff and worth looking into if fruited wheats are your thing

IDC what anyone else says, this beer is perfect (I might have a thing for the tangerine flavor). Color is slightly hazy and orange. Smell and taste are a perfect "tangerine" flavor like the name suggests. This beer is even better on-tap. Now down to just one case. Gonna need to get more.

On tap in a standard pint glass.
Slightly burnt orange color with a near 1f white cap. A little wave and a few spots of lacing. It’s cloudy.
Sweet tangerine aroma identical to the small ones that I peel and consume while on the golf course.
Wheat flavor opens then the tangerine jumps into the mix. Sweet and easy.
Light and summery. Sweet beginning with a drying finish. Some peel feel, too.
I find it better than its ratings. I’m enjoying this brew and would do it again. Summer fun.
