Poured a full crisp amber with a quickly diminishing head that left no lacing on the glass. The aroma was of rich caramel malt with understated earthy hops. The taste was of burnt caramel with pine hops lingering in the aftertaste. There was a decent balance between the two. The mouthfeel was slightly bitter, weighing a little heavy for a beer of 5.5%, not too strongly, though. This is certainly an enjoyable amber beer, just not too high on my overall list.

I can't say anything bad about this one. It's a amazing "in-between" beer style. A little dark version, not too malty and not too light. Smells so good and taste like it.

This is one top notch and tasty brew. Dark copper color, a small skin of head, streaky lacing. Caramel, malt with a light hop accent. Mildly sweet with a hint of stinging bitterness. Really, really enjoyable.

Appearance – Nice, dark cloudy orange with a head that showed good retention and lacing.

Smell – Deep citrus hop and caramel malt aroma. I can also pick up apple cider.

Taste – Yes, this is an evenly hopped ale with a nice slightly-sweet malt backbone with a hint of raw apple cider (not the sugary kind).

Mouthfeel – Fairly big for a pale ale, this one is chewy and somewhat dry.

Drinkability – This was the first beer of the night and I was parched, so it went down quite well. The excellent balance and dry finished made this one a “buy again.”

12 oz bottle purchased as a single from the Leaf and Ale, in Knoxville, Tn. This pours a clear amber body with a one finger, orange tinted beige head that retains well and leaves lots of patchy lace.
The aroma is citrusy hops of orange, lemon, and grapefruit. Pale malt sweetness takes the edge off the hop aromas to produce a slightly restrained bouquet.
Mouthfeel has a nice medium full body for style and has above average carbonation to hold it together.
Taste is very nice, with fruity orange and pink grapefruit hop flavors which gently fold into a caramel flavored malt backbone. The hops have a fresh taste which highlights a bittersweet finish.
This one is like a good American ESB on steroids. Tasty citrusy hops give this amber a very pleasant drinkability.

Picked up a sixer of 8 Ball Stout while on Long Island...Shoreline Beverage to be exact.
Was surprised to find this bottle mixed in (not thrilled) and figured I was cheated. After trying this beer, I feel it was a blessing in disguise.
Pours a very inviting bright copper...almost what I'd expect from a pumpkin spiced brew. A decent amount of beige head sits on top w/ very minimal lacing that has practically no cling. Still, a very attractive offering.
The aroma is a bit mild...a floral hop character w/ some caramel mixed in.
Taste is one very tasty sip after another...very well balanced w/ a huge hop presence (for its style). Carmelized malt keeps this beer balanced...I do not detect anything that would classify this as a Red.
Mouthfeel is decent...not thin at all and has no lingering bitterness.
This could be one of the easiest brews to consume if given the opportunity.
Another solid beer from Lost Coast.

A decent amber, though nothing special. Has a nice, smooth finish. A nice refreshing beer.

A-Pours a fingers worth of foamy beige head that continues to lace the pint glass. Completely clear and light amber color.
S-Nice caramel malt aroma, toasted nuttiness in here too.
T-Dominant toasty nuttiness. Reminds me of a nut brown ale. Slight spicy hop finish.
M-Medium bodied, high carbonation, finish is a bit long thanks to the spicy hops and finishes dry.
D-An easy one to drink.
O-This is a solid beer. Easy to drink and tasty. Well done, I like this one a lot more than their wheat beer.

Standard amber and red colored beer, good carbonation to it, smell was of irish moss.

Tastes straight up, good enough toast feel to the malt, hop presence, but nothing that is going to blow you away or be confused for nugget nectar, bitterness kept in check. Slightly bready. Tiny bit of citrus orange like flavor on the backend.

A decent beer to have around, nothing too adventurous, but it has its time and place.

On tap served in a pint glass

A - Clear amber with 2 finger off white head and moderate head retention and moderate lacing.

S - Caramel, malt, grapefruit hot notes.

T - Follows the smell, decent balance but won't blow your mind.

M - Medium body, medium carbonation

O - Slightly above average Amber, not my favorite, probably won't get it again, but try it!

A: Very nice amber to copper color, no faults in appearance
S: Malts and hops pronounced
T: Sweet and bitter tastes have a nice balance. Caremel malts very noticable. Lots of flavors.
M: Medium body
D: Very drinkable, has the right amount of contrasts for the style.

Overall, a very good amber to copper ale that offers full flavors and excellent drinkability.

[email protected] Coast. Nutty, orangey, hopsy finish, not over the top, nice session beer, innofensive, fairly tasty. I'm guiessing this is one of there best selling beers, but even so, its not bland or anything, its really pleasant, nothing wrong, just not overly complex or anything, Tasty beer.

This is a beautiful brown to orange "amber" ale.
The tan head is a mix of fine and large bubbles.
Head dissipates rather quickly.

Aroma is not huge but slightly malty and seemingly in style.

Taste is a good balance of hop tang and malt. It seemed to attract the flying insects on my patio!

This is a "drink steadily all night" kind of beer.

I need to sample the rest of Lost Coast's line up.
