look: 3.5 | smell: 4 | taste: 3.5 | feel: 3 | overall: 3.5

A: Pours a semi transparent garnet/copper color. Finger and a half of slightly brownish head. Dissipation is moderate.

S: Sweet caramel notes, toffee, milk chocolate, hazelnut liquer, toasty, woody notes.

T: Nice sweet...almost nondescript malt sweetness envelops the palate. This is overtaken by subtle woody undertones and roasty walnut flavors come to play. A little under defined, flavor wise.

M: Carbonated a bit on the high scale, the added seltzer like feel undermines the full body one comes to expect from good brown ales.

O: Decent brown. This one lacks the depth of flavor or the fullness of body of some of the better brown ales on the market.

A - Poured into mug. Deep dark brown with two fingers of head and minimal lacing.

S - Nutty and chocolatey.

T - Chocolate and nutty flavors up front. Slight caramel. Finishes sweet and malty.

M - Smooth, slightly crisp and bubbly on the palate. Easy to drink.

Probably my favorite Brown Ale right now.

Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a pint glass.

A: mahogany in color with a slight chill haze. Eggshell-hued head settles quickly to a thin film on the surface. Not much lacing going on with this beer.

S: some caramel and chocolate up front, with a slight nutty character. Some floral hop aroma lingers in the background.

T: much like the smell, but hops are more pronounced up front. Caramel, toast, and bitter chocolate flavors, along with just a hint of fruitiness. Finish is a bit grassy and dry.

Notes: medium in body, and has a soft mouthfeel. Flavors are well-balanced and the finish is clean. Nothing real exciting about this beer, but nonetheless pretty good. Easy to drink in numbers, it's definitely a session brown.

On tap served in a pint glass

A - Slighty hazy, nut brown in color, two finger head with great head retention and good lacing.

S - Sweet caramel, roasted barley, chocolate.

T - Not very bitter, follows the smell, pretty sweet, hops are a little weak but standard for this style.

M - Medium body, moderate carbonation.

O - Pretty good Brown ale, I'd get this again. My favorite at Lost Coast.
