LOOKS: A slightly hazy reddish brown with a finger+ of khaki head that lasts, and leaves some mild lacing.
AROMA: Malty and raspberry sorbet.
TASTE: I think this a bit past it's prime, 'cause the raspberry flavor is really weak, the malt is very mild, as well.
FEEL: A bit watery, just not a lot of body, here. Average carbonation, and pretty dry.
OVERALL: Weak, and totally forgettable.

(22oz, San Mateo CA) taste like a weak stout with berry flavor, easy to drink at first but becomes painfully boring after a couple sips, hardly seems like a beer. The only good thing about this one was the price.

Poured from a bomber bottle into a goblet.

L - Medium o dark brown color but clear. Holding it up to the light shows just a hint of pink highlights. Head is light tan, fairly thick and active.

S - Strong brown ale malty aromas: graham crackers, low chocolate, brown sugar, prunes. Mixed in is a light but distinct whiff of raspberry.

T - Unlike the delicate fruit aromas, the flavors have a much more assertive raspberry character. The balance seems swapped, with raspberry up front and dominant, and then chocolate and other malt notes at a lower level.

F - Medium body. Carbonation is low but still smooth and creamy. Bitterness is enough to keep the sweetness down, but is otherwise not perceptible. No alcohol presence.

O - A well-made beer with clean character. Not a lot of depth or complexity to the flavors, but no flaws either.

i just bought this literally 20 minutes ago, as it was on sale so i thought i'd give it a try. raspberry and other fruit beers can be a real gamble, but i've had some that worked, so i thought i'd give it a shot. man, what a mistake.

even upon simply opening the bottle, i was invaded with a sickly sweet, syrupy raspberry smell, and i knew i was in for a bad ride. poured fine, looked ok (looks like a brown), but that raspberry smell was everywhere. first sip was nothing but a raspberry syrup taste, and it never subsided.

honestly, if i wasn't looking at it and you didn't tell me it was a beer, i would probably think it was a raspberry Fanta. well ok i'm not that ignorant, i would be able to tell there was beer in there, but this is 5% beer, 95% raspberry soda, basically. i don't mind fruit in beers if it's done right, but this latest trend of people obsessively trying to force fruit in beers it doesn't need to be in is getting old. i actually signed up for this account just to warn others not to waste a dime on this beer. if you can call it that. dang, and for the price they had it on sale for, i could have gotten 10 other different beers. sigh.

not trying to bash unnecessarily on the beer, brewery, or those who like it. to each his own. but for me, this was absolutely horrible. basically a raspberry soda. it was 2 for $7 and i think i would rather throw the other one away than subject myself to that again. and as everyone knows, it is not easy to throw away a beer.

coulda had 2 Racers for the same price. oh the humanity.
