Great Texas spring seasonal offering; nice, light and refreshing. Filtered wheat ale but still with nice hefeweizen aroma/flavor coming through. Highly recommended.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a deep golden color with a two-finger head of puffy white foam. The head has a good level of retention, fading over time and leaving a decent bit of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma of the brew is very strong of a wheat bread and banana aroma mixed with some clove and coriander. Along with these aromas comes notes of caramel and grain as well as some yeasty and citrus smells.
Taste – The taste begins as one may have anticipated from the nose, with a strong wheat bread flavor and a decent showing of yeast and banana. At the same time there are flavors of caramel and citrus as well as a little bit of clove. As the taste advances forward the spice and banana get stronger all while some grainy and bready flavors join the wheat. This mix of flavors takes the taste to its end, leaving one with a nice wheaty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is medium to slightly thicker with a carbonation level that is on the higher side. For the style and the flavors, the feel is great and makes for a very nice sipper.
Overall – A very nice example of a kristallweizen. Lots of wheat, banana, and spice flavor with a great drinkability.

pours a crystal clear straw yellow body with a billowing white fluffy froth head that has moderate retention and leaves sparse but thick ropes of sticky sudsy lacing as it settles to a patchy cap with uneven/rocky halo
aroma is very floral and citrus sweet with a classic banana/clove spice combo
taste follows the nose. it's crisp yet floral lemon and that spice combo. malt is low on the radar but certainly there.
mouthfeel is high carbonation and lighter body; goes smooth and softly crisp, very clean feeling, with a dry finish and bittersweet aftertaste that coats the tongue
overall:
it's floral and crisp with a smooth dry finish. lemon and yeast and spice are fully functional and vibrant even. solid brew and has to be mentioned amongst the greatest of its peers.

Notes from 4/21/2020.
Poured from a 12oz can into a Rastal nucleated Teku glass.
The body is a pale clear yellow with 2 fingers of fluffy white head. Retention is normal leaving some thin lacing and a thin cap. 4.00
The aroma is medium-low in strength and of banana, clove, sweet malt, and some spice. 3.75
The taste is medium-low in strength and of over ripe banana, clove, a hint of lemon, lightly sweet malt, and a light bitter finish. The flavor is delicate and delicious. 4.5
The feel is... Oops! I finished the glass. I'll just pop open another can. Like I was saying, the feel is just below medium in thickness, and the carbonation bursts on the tongue into a very creamy yet light consistency. The finish is slightly astringent. 4.5
Overall, and at risk of being terribly trite, this beer is light and refreshing. There, I said it. It's my first Kristalweizen but Hefeweizens are my favorite. I wish Heisenberg was available year round. 4.25

Not having a lot of experience with kristallweizen other than this option, this is a really interesting bridge between a hefe and a gose - fresh almost grassy aroma with the familiar twang of a brut champagne, slightly sweet on the backend with the faintest banana esters yet a tinge of puckering sour on the tongue with a lime like tartness and the whisper of salt. The mouthful is heavenly and complex, zapping the taste buds with bubbling effervescence while balancing with just enough treacly stickiness to encourage another quaff. A beer with so much character feels like it should have a higher ABV, yet it sits at a very modest 4.5%.
Austin Beerworks crafts another masterpiece like their RICO stout Sputnik that truly stands out - not just as a good example of a style, but a great beer that can be enjoyed by fans across all palates.

Pour at the brewery.
Crystal clear, pale straw. Thin slightly off-white small bubbled head.
Hint of earthy spice, grassy field and slight fruity phenols.
Flavor is similar to the aroma. All light, refined and balanced. Flavor is subtle, but has depth to prevent this from seeming like a "light" brew.
Moderate carbonation and lighter side body.
I could see myself drinking a few of these in the hot weather. Refreshing without being watery or flavorless.
