12 oz. pour on draft at Pizzeria Paradiso, Dupont Circle (NW D.C.)'s happy hour on 3/12/14, unknown creation/kegging date, poured into a standard shaker and drank over 15-30 minutes.

A - 3/3 - golden-yellow coloration, moderate clarity for style but some haze present, initial frothy white head that persisted as a finger head throughout the drinking; moderate alcohol legs; moderate carbonation that reagitates on the swirl

S: 7/12 - very mild/barely detectable aroma - grapefruit, lemon zest, pineapple and other tropical fruits; some pilsner breadiness; way more muted that I'd like

T: 13/20 - on the anterior tongue, there's very a mild bitterness that is immediately replaced by fruit notes that closely follow the nose; there's a pils biscuity malt on the back of the tongue; finishes dry, which invites subsequent sips; moderate alcohol notes

M: 3/5 - moderate body, some hop oils and alcohol provide body but just way more muted than lots of other DIPAs on the market

O: 7/10 - this is another pleasant beer from ***, but, unfortunately, I'm still waiting for them to release a IPA/DIPA that leaves me clamoring for more; the only other Azacca beer that I've had is Victory's Hop Ranch and that was a much better beer; thankfully, I purchased this for 1/2 on happy hour ($4.50) because I would have been pissed if I paid full price; it's worth a taster to draw your own conclusion though

TOTAL - 33/50

Poured a pale copper body with two finger head and lace ring on top of a citric hop aroma that has notes of grape nad touches of sweet caramel. Beer is hoppy thanks to the large citric hop base but smooth and sweet with grapefruit notes tucked in as well as caramel malt. Like the balance and cleanness of beer and they get a good amount of hops without overpowering the sweet edge in this beer.
