A: The beer is hazy pinkish purple in color. It poured with a short white head that quickly settled down, leaving lots of wispy lacing on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sour blackberries are present in the nose.
T: Similar to the smell, the taste is a little sour and has notes of blackberry flavors.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and isn't overly sour.

Pours a reddish/purple, with a fizzy white head that dissipates quickly. Some light comes through the body. Aroma is big on ripe berries, earthy Brett and a dash of oak. Flavor is a nice balance of tar, underripe berries, dashes of earthy Brett and hints of oaky white wine. A noticeable grassy flavor is present too. Feel is medium bodied, slightly prickly and sticky, but not super sour. All in all a very nice beer that has some very good components.

375ml cork+cage poured into a teku. Burgundy+purple in the glass, similar in appearance to fruited lambics or AWA. Very jammy nose, tons of dark fruit, smells sour but definitely a clean and funky, no vinegar to speak of.

Slick mouth feel with minerality and a distinct salinity, very wine-like on the palate. As much as I'd say it's similar to any gueze producer's fruited lambic, while something like Tilquin Quetsche has layers and layers of brett-y funk, I find this to be more direct, more focused, and no better or worse than the former, just different. Same quality level, and that's compared to one of my favorite gueze blenders.

As other have said, BY FAR the best beer from 3 stars. Certainly worth picking up.

Easily the best beer 3 Stars has brewed so far. Looks great in a glass--deep purple with a moderate amount of head. Smells like blackberry preserves with some mild funk. Not mouth-puckeringly sour, but tart enough to balance out the sweetness of the fruit. Some oak and white wine from the barrel treatment, but not overpowering. Not quite as dry as the best wild ales; I could see it getting a little syrupy as it warms. Overall, a well-balanced beer that's very enjoyable to drink.

This is really a wonderful beer, probably the best thing that 3 Stars has made to-date and, by a good margin, the best wild ale to come out of the DC area. Beautiful color and just hits all the notes that a fruited wine BA sour is supposed to hit.

This was poured at the Beer Advocate Microbrew Invitational and was an apparent crowd favorite as it ran out at each session I attended. Poured a beautiful deep pink with a nice resillient head. The nose was big and tart with delicious notes of fruit and funk. Wonderfully balanced tartness with a lively mouthfeel and a complex clean finish.

Had on tap. Pinkish violet in coloring, off white head. Sour blackberry, chardonnay, oak, grape must, barrel funk, and brett aromas. Taste elevates the tartness and funk from the smell, plus has great vinous character through out. Feel is a little thick, but otherwise vinous, slightly tart and bright.
