Type: 16-oz. can
Glass: Lagunitas mason jar
From: Bine & Vine Bottle Shop
Price: $7.99 for a 4-pack
Purchased: Nov. 4, 2016
Consumed: Nov. 4, 2016

Misc.: No canned on date or anything on the package

Had never heard of this beer, but saw it on sale for $7.99 for a 4-pack of 16-oz. cans on a recent trip to Bine & Vine. Bought it on a whim without even looking for a Canned on Date or a rating on Untappd or Beer Advocate. Let’s go with it.

Poured a straw-gold yellow hazy color with 2-to-3 fingers of frothy white head. Lots of bubble streams coming up from the bottom of the glass. Outstanding foamy spiderweb lacing. Excellent retention. (Sight - 4.25)

Smelled spoiled melon, mango, peach and nectarine, floral hops, Cascade, Citra, hints of orange marmalade and caramel candy. Different. (Smell - 3.75)

Taste followed the nose. Kind of digging it. More juicy than bitter. Getting Centennial, Citra, melon, peach, nectarine, mango, caramel candy (those sticky candy squares), floral, hints of Southern Hemisphere trashy hops, orange marmalade, toffee and even some hints of woody Nugget. (Taste - 4.00)

Medium body. Creamy texture. Average-to-lively carbonation. Longer finish. (Feel - 3.75)

Had no idea what to expect, but this was pretty good. More malty than bitter, but that isn’t always a bad thing. (Overall - 3.75)

A-a clear light golden yellow with two fingers worth of rocky head

S-light bready malt, citrus, light tropical fruits, and some light pine in the finish

T-taste is similar to the smell with a pale malty backbone, citrus, tropical fruits, and a large piney finish

M-medium body, could do with a little more carbonation

Overall could use a little more carbonation to make this into a real contender, but has a nice amount of hops and tropical fruits to give a good balance

A: The beer is slightly hazy yellow in color with a bit of paleness and a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a finger high bright white head that gradually died down, but consistently left a short head covering the surface and lots of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of piney hops are present in the nose along with some notes of citrusy hops.
T: Similar to the smell, from start to finish the taste of this beer is all about the pine, which contributes a moderate to high amount of bitterness along with some hints of citrus.
M: It feels medium-bodied, rather crisp, and quite dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very bitter and piney, which can pucker up your mouth. This might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Poured a golden orange body with small head and lace patches. Hoppy, citric, bitter aroma but has some grapefruit sweetness underneath it. Real hoppy beer and there's balance between bitterness and sweetness and it's a clean beer with mixed citric/grapefruit tastes. Tad dry for my liking and a little light-bodied for my liking as well as the hop bitterness can be overpowering at times.

Poured on tap at Pizza Paradiso Dupont into a sampler flight.

Dull peach amber body, thin top with a tan head leaving a little white collar. Body has some nice yellow hues to it also with opaque and glowing consistency.

Hop profile is very noticeable but controlled. Fruity peach and tropics, with a little bit of hinting pine perhaps. Seems juicy as well and inviting.

Palate matches with a good peach hop angle, but more tropical accents come out. Pineapple, maybe some mango with a very juicy sweet profile. White sugar is a bit evident mixing with a subdued malt backbone. Fussel heat in flavor and feel is a little bit evident, but luckily not too overpowering or distracting. Slightly spritzy mouthfeel but with juicy flavors that shine first and force your palate away from some of the wetness.

Overall still very enjoyable for what it is.

Poured from a can into the pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a small white head. Smells of citrus and earthy hops. Tastes of citrus hops with notes of earthiness and sweet grain. Beer is medium/full bodied with good carbonation and good finish. Overall, a good beer.

The color is an extremely hazy but bright rusty orange color with a tall fluffy light beige head. From the look of the head I was expecting some nice lacing, but there was none.

It smells more malty than hoppy with a heavy dose of caramel squares. The hops are a muted orange and flowers.

Thankfully, the hops come through more in the taste with tangerine and lilac. The sweet malt adds a heavy balance. The finish is long but a little astringent.

Mouthfeel has a nice heavy body with good carbonation and is sticky.

This is the first beer I've had from 3 stars and had never heard of them to this point. It was a very nice beer and I'm glad to have tried it. It was a good use of citra but could just use a bit more in the aroma.
