I purchased my 16-fl. oz gem at a bodega in NE PHL on my way to The Grey Lodge, where the magic REALLY happens. Ppl were astounded at my purchases, but unless you have embarked on The CANQuest (tm) for yourself, you CAN never understand the euphoria of a new CAN.

From the CAN: "Brewed for Extra Gravity & Exceptionally Smooth Flavor".

I Crack!ed this ChANp open & sat back for a moment of debate. Bump it! I went with an inverted Glug as an Up Yours! to the ex-Old Lady & all of the other doubtas & hatas that come at me alla time, yo. Man, this shizznit fizzed like pop, f'shizzle, m'nizzle! The head was there & gone, kinda like that crack ho that I scored some crunk juice for earlier. Yo, you think I'm inna hood, dressed as a monk for no reason?!? Baby, NOBODY f**ks wit' me & I score some serious CAN action. Yeah, I'm an enabler, buying $2.00 s**t for the dolls, but it gets me in & out of the 'hood mos' ricky ticky. Again, NOBODY f**ks with Bro. Woody with the Order of Disorder when I cruise the 'hood, yo. Color was a hazy neon greenish-Yellow (SRM = N/A). Nose was sweet, but VERY evocative of limes & alcohol. Mouthfeel was thin & watery & this jawnt was like A-Treat pop, yo! Taste was mostly sweet, slightly lime-ish, but overall, VERY evocative of a lime spritzer. Hmm. This definitely tasted of limes, but simply to get the job done. This was no playin' around, right, playa? But, it was a LOT more palatable than standard Steel Reserve & a lot less sharp. Finish was dry, but very fruity. Proceed at your own risk. Me, I'm on to the next gem in this series.

A: The beer is clear light neon green in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short bright white head that quickly died down, leaving a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of lime juice are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having flavors of lime juice and notes of sugary sweetness. No alcohol is perceptible.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer might look like a radioactive isotope from its unnatural neon green color, but the taste is actually quite natural tasting and is very reminiscent of margarita mix.

Steel Reserve Alloy Addition Margarita.

Picked up at my local east end store after making a stop at my craft place. Didn't know steel reserve was trying to go the way of Bud. Steel reserve is one of the worst beers I have ever had, though I have had other incarnations that weren't awful, but not exactly great. Figure for $1 a can how bad can it be? ;).

Look - Exactly like a Bud light lime. Margarita esque green with a small fizzy pure white head that trickles down to absolutely nothing within a few seconds. Carbonation appears to be medium and lacing isn't a factor due to the lack of head. Can't hate it since it looks how you'd expect. 3.

Smell - You get the usual adjunct and grain bill as expected with any malt liquor. The lime come through and makes itself known though the malt bill stays largely present and reminds you that it is a malt liquor. Alcohol is somewhat detectable but not off putting. 2.5.

Taste - Yeah you know it's a steel reserve the second is hits your taste buds. The lime is actually pretty good but the malt bill isn't welcome nor is it pleasant. Mimicks the salt effect pretty well, and the alcohol is lingering and numbing although not as offensive as you would expect it to be. 2.5.

Feel - Body is sweet and watery with dead carbonation and an overdose of alcohol that tickles then numbs the tongue. Grains become highly prevelant as expected.2.

Overall - It was pretty much exactly as expected. Not good, but better than its original incarnation of putrid garbage. I could have on a night with friends around a fire. But probably only one. Nearly finished the can and I already feel a slight buzz. Accomplished its goal so I'll give it a bit of a higher score here. 3

This is one of the best margarita drinks I have ever bought. It taste just like a margarita you buy at a bar! And it's so inexpensive! Thank you Steel Reserve Brewing Co. I will continue buying this until they stop making it! I just wish it was easier to get! The other canned margarita's are no comparison to this one! Love it, love it, love it!

Amazing flavor and very very cheap. This is the best flavor of steel reserve but the pineapple is close behind. if you drink this on ice with a straw it is the best ever. tastes great and gives you a great buzz

Appearance: Hazy light green in color, with a small white head, which soon collapses to a dusting of foam, the lacing is thin, and sparse. Occasional fat bubbles drift languidly to the surface.

Aromas: It definitely smells like a margarita, even with a whiff of alcohol, unsurprising at an ABV of 8%.

Taste: The aroma is anything but deceptive, Steel Reserve (Alloy Series) Margarita tastes like... a margarita. Its quite sweet, with hefty doses of lime Kool-Aid (TM) flavors, and a decent, warming alcohol presence. Later in the taste, there is a strong wave of sweetness, which dominates all. Finishes with a surge of sweet lime and alcohol. No hop presence whatsoever.

Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, and fairly full, pleasant.

Drinkability/notes: Its not bad, certainly no worse than Bud Light Lime Lime-A-Rita or Dos Equis® Dos-A-Rita. At about $2.50 for a twenty-four ounce can, its hard to feel I didn't get my money's worth.

Presentation: Packaged in a twenty-four ounce aluminum can, served in a New Belgium Brewing chalice.
