Interesting all dark flight at Bier Markt Montreal
Peche Mortel wins.
A) too little head and lace to high mark here.
S) Aroma is woody, char, goodness, dark fruits, malts.
T) Right balance of sweet and char. But also-ran.
F) Too thin. Find another.

Enjoyed in Vieux Montreal, bottle into glass.
For me, a very decent porter, just nothing mind-bending. All very solid on look (dissipating head, nice deep brown), smell and taste--a not-too-dense, slightly nutty and chocolatey taste and flavor for me, and feel (smooth). I rate this higher than average here.

Need to preface this review with the fact that I'm not traditionally a huge fan of the style.
Look - pitch black colour, with a 1/2" caramel head
Smell - coffee, with a very roasted malt/toast aroma
Taste - lightly sweet start, notes of chocolate and coffee, dry and bitter finish
Feel - medium body/creaminess
Very pleasant and drinkable porter

Pitch black with a small head. Amazing smell, dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts in the nose. Same flavours are present in the mouth too, with some black licorice also. Really creamy , really pleasant to drink.

Very good porter with nice roasted coffee flavours. This beer was one of the first porter style beers I had and it made for a pleasant first experience.

Pleasantly surprised with this one. Lots of coffee and roasted flavours, and very smooth. A nice, subtle porter that I would get again.
