It is a lager beer in Vienna style, with an amber and cruby colour (almost dark honey), which shows a head of foam not too persistent and small grain.
Aroma of malt, caramel, liquorice: it is a quite aromatic beer (considering that it is an industrial one).
Taste is not at the same level of the aroma, even if caramel prevails, with light traces of cherry; alcohol and bitter arise at a second stage, with a slightly metallic aftertaste.
It is a carbonated (on average) and sparkling beer.

De color rojizo, con una fina espuma de retención media. Cuerpo ligero y carbonatación media. Aroma a malta y frutas. En boca es ligeramente dulce.
Dentro la línea "Gran Riserva" de Peroni, ésta es la mejor.

From a bottle which was gifted from a friend. Best before date by 09/20.

Served in a small pint glass at around 6ºC. When poured it developed a thick, 1-1.5cm white collar above the liquid, which disappeared almost immediately.

With a dark orange, light brown, almost honey colour, it's one of the best looking beers when poured I have seen in a while.

At nose, it has a malty first smell with some alcoholic undertones, as expected from a lager.

Taste has nothing to do with look or even smell: with a slight caramel first impression that quickly leaves, it has almost no other flavor attached to it. Alcoholic and with some (somewhat unpleasant) bitterness at the end.

As it was gift, I drank it all, but I wouldn't recommend getting this one for anyone. A passing grade, only because the good looks and because it was the first italian beer I got.

L. Perfectly clear chestnut brown. Some fat bubbles rising into a caramel head that clears quickly to lacing.
S. Barley/grains, otherwise nothing stands out to me
T. Toasty, them somewhat bitter/sour, and slowly through a long dry finish. The bitter/sour middle was something of a surprise but after a few swigs I'm getting a bit more used to it.
M. Hoppier than I was expecting from an Italian beer. Quite fresh/refreshing as it's well hopped and isn't 'rich' as such.
O. After a few mouthfulls and whilst studying the lable I started thinking 'Peroni, I hadn't noticed that when I bought it...hmmm'. Then I'd flashbacks to decades earlier drinking a dreadful Italian beer called Peroni Nastro Azzuro; I wonder if it's the same brewery. 'PNA' was the kind of thing you'd find offered in every Italian restuarant during the 80s, at a premium price, and you'd do your best to avoid having to buy it as it was so dismal. Perhaps this is an example of another country's mega-brewer trying to newly dominate demand in the premium/'craft' scene? Interesting to try, but I don't get the bitter/sharp middle part of the flavour so won't be buying it again. Several beers I've bought in London recently seem to come with 'The Story' of the beer on the lable, and it's usually mostly just piffling nonsense. This is one time when there is no bio for the beer, and I would be interested to hear what the brewers had in mind. ps. It seems a very elegent bottle to have to throw away after just one use...

Mouth is med bod but sticky and mild syrupy, decent carb
Overall mess of a beer, not good, glad it was only a few Euros

500ml bottle.
L: Clear, glassy, russet colour with a thick, creamy, off-white head.
S: Light, clean, malt nose. No off notes.
T: Basic, semi-sweet malt with moderate bitterness & a short finish.
F: Light body, moderate carbonation, some stickiness.
O: Looks fabulous but is pretty generic overall. The malt is too sweet and lacks richness and depth. Bitterness becomes harsh over time. Disappointing.
