Clear golden lager with very thin, fine white head. A crisp lager aroma instantly forgettable. Taste is only a poor hop bitterness although I thought there might have been a slight apple taste though I couldn't quite find it again. It wasn't completely unpleasant until swallowing. High carbonation puts this on par with a pale lager. A dry bitter finish makes this neither refreshing or very pairable with the food I was eating. but hey, at least it was only $8 for a huge glass (sarcastic). I guess I can't say it was completely awful because I did finish it only that I don't want another one.

Appearance:
Cooking oil has more color than this beer. It's crystal clear with only a touch of yellow tinting. On the plus side the beer held on to a sizable white head for a good little while. There isn't much lacing to note but a whispy film remains after the head is gone.

Smell:
Shocker, a skunked beer in a green bottle. Some people may not find it fair to knock the beer for its packaging but it's Peroni's choice to do so and I am not in the camp that believes skunking has any business in a beer and I'm usually fair to macro beers. Sucks.

Taste and Mouthfeel:
Once again this is a skunked beer and that blows but spoiled green bottle beers deserve low scores as opposed to spoiled brown bottle beers since you've actually made an effort then to prevent spoiling. There's a touch of malt sweetness which takes away from the skunking a little but the beer drinks light, bland, and just down right boring. Sucks. When fresh I could imagine that this may be a good example of the style but skunking is such an overwhelming and awful thing.

Drinkability:
You could get hammered on this beer in a standard meathead bar there's no denying that, but I'll take a fresh brown bottle PBR over this anyday.

Bottom Line:
Just kind of bad. The beer only hints at remote quality from the depths of its light raped isohumulone compounds.

Note that this review is for the Peroni Nastro that is brewed under licence in Australia.

---

Appearance: Yellow and clear, with a pale white head of about 1.5cm. Head disappears within a few seconds, but still manages wisps of lacing down the glass.

Aroma: A little bit of hops, a little bit of grass, a little bit of zest... but quite dull overall.

Taste: Move along, nothing to see here! Just some bitterness, very faint hints of malt, and that weird metallic 'tang' that a lot of macro beers have when brewed in Australia... A very generic flavour (and I use the word flavour loosely).

Mouthfeel: Very light in body, and high carbonation. Quite crisp, it's definitely a beer for the masses in style.

Drinkability: I could not finish the glass, it was a big disappointment. I have had the *real* Nastro that is brewed in Italy, and although I’m not a massive fan, it was beautiful in comparison. This felt like a slightly more well-rounded VB...

Pale yellow beer, think white film on top. Looks like mass-produced swill. It even lacks the high carbonation level that makes looking at a Bud Light or Miller Lite highway entertaining, if not alluring.

Smells awful. Metallic. False. Unnatural.

Taste is bad. It's bearable when very cold, but I wouldn't want to let this warm up at all. It's watery and artificial, like they cut corners with ingredients instead of using good ones. It would be flavorless if it weren't for the slight skunkiness.

I spose you could drink several of these if you wanted to. It's not undrinkable. But why? There's great beers out there, let's not waste time on this one.

A- clear pale golden with rising bubbles. not much head, not much lace either. pretty much a standard US macro/euro lager appearance from all angles.

S- skunky yuck like every green bottle ever. except this one heineken i had ONE TIME. bland grassy noble hops and a little pale malt in the nose, also a bit lemony, but mostly hay and grains.

T- crisp and clean with raw barley and spicy hops. a citric sourness comes through after the skunkiness goes away but i wouldn't quite call it lemon...maybe some corn or rice influence, green apple, and an artificial tasting noble hop finish. bleh.

MF & D- refreshing at best, medium high carbonation, it's crisp and clean, and i'm sure a guy stranded in one of italy's expansive deserts would appreciate it as a life saver but...i had a hard time finishing this glass.

My step-mom got this to go with a pizza we were making for dinner. She was thinking that if we were eating Italian, I would want to drink Italian beer. Her heart was in the right place, nice gesture and so forth. I'm not a hater of Euro-lagers but this beer was rather disappointing.

Served from a green bottle at refrigeration temperature. Pale straw color, with big white head that gave off skunky aromas as soon as the bottle was cracked. The taste was sulfury-mineraly, with no maltiness and a harsh acrid bite, possibly due to carbonation, with the skunkiness always lingering in the background. Body was thin. Drinkability was below average for pale lager styles.

The adverts present this as a beer for beautiful people. Fashionistas and glamourous types adorn their glossy magazine ads and give this the reputation of a classy beer. In pubs it comes from an ostentatious silver pump with grand adornments making you feel you're buying a premium drink.

Sadly, it smells of not much. Maybe a bit grainy and lagery.

The appearance is poor because the head does not last and you're left with something that looks like a glass of apple juice.

The taste is not pleasant. It tastes cheap and artificial. As if someone had poured generic "beer" flavouring into a glass of sparkling water. It's a chore to finish this and you feel it isn't doing you much good. There's a slight bitterness and grainy flavour from the maize adjunct. No sign of any herbal hops or enjoyable malt backbone.

The mouthfeel is not particularly bad but the taste is so insipid and even slightly offensive that the mouthfeel doesn't seem to matter.

Overal,l a really poor lager that could probably put many people off beer altogether and lager in particular if this was their typical experience of the drink.

My mark out of one hundred would be 49.

Serving Type: 355 mL Bottle

Picked this beer up randomly while going through the European beer section at my local liquor store.

Poured into a tall Coors Light glass.

A- Poured a deep, yellow colour with a head that disappeared so swiftly that it was hard to note!

S- Skunky and lots of grain. I don't believe there is any other way to describe the smell! Quite displeasing at the least...

T- Unfortunately the taste is not much better than the smell. Quite skunky and full of grainy, bread notes. Nothing else in the bouquet worth noting..

M- The only way to describe the mouthfeel would have to be water-like. Little to no carbonation in this brew.

O- Peroni Nastro Azzuro is absolutely nothing special. I hate to say it but this brew was definitely not worth my time or money. Perhaps I got a bad batch but I'm afraid I will not find out if there is such thing as a good batch. Under good conscience I can not recommend this brew to my beer brothers! Spend your money on something else!

A: Super light water color with some yellow thrown in. Minimal white head. No lacing.

S: Pure Corn. Really bad.

T: Just about the most watery beer I have ever had. Some corn sweetness.

M: Water.

D: Why would anyone want to drink this? Glad I got to split this jewel with a fellow BA.

Maybe it was because of the green bottle. Or maybe it was because of the way it was stored. This beer had a off smell and taste. It was oxidized I think. The beer was very clear and a bright yellow. The carbonation clung to the side of the glass. My wife said it looked more like gingerale than beer because it was so carbonated. The head was generous and white. Everything was going well until I raised the glass to my mouth. The aroma was poor and the flavor that followed matched the smell. I might try another at another restuarant to see if I might change my mind.

Pale, straw like in colour with a small bubbly head that disappears almost instantly leaving nothing behind.

Not much of an aroma, what there is smells of grain & lemony, citrus fruit.

Similar to the smell really, quite sweet in parts but very bland overall.

Light bodied and really quite watery with a little fizz. Goes down easily but no real redeeming features.

Nothing really wrong with this beer in any areas, just incredibly bland with no real flavours.

Clear yellow fizzy beer with frighteningly white tiny head. Score for appearance downgraded 0.5 points for falsely claiming to be a premium beer on the label.
Non-discript grain aroma, no, not aroma, smell. No hops apparent.
No malt flavor to speak of, definately no hops. Fizzy yellow pre-urine.
Thin mouthfeel. This beer, if I may call it beer, is to be avoided for its stunning blandness. I was very happy that I was able to pass the bottle on to my father-in-law and have to pour it down the drain.

I guess I expected a shitty lager when I found this in the House of 1,000 beers mixed six section. Pour is as clear yellow as it gets without being a light beer. Another note on appearance is the weird notch's in the back of the bottle. I guess that's for opening a beer with another beer. Screams classy.

Head was just a mere half inch and I was surprised to see it not fizz into nothing. Smell is your typical corn, musk, and hop mix. Taste is equally the same maybe some cardboard and moldy hops yet it taste as refreshing as filtered water. Makes my stomach rumble a tad. Mouthfeel is light and crisp.

Overall these Euro lagers are all the same. Light like spring water. Heavy on corn and sunk hops. Little revisit value.

m: carbonation...not much else
d: average

Poured a very pale yellow, fizzy head dissipated quickly to light lacing. Carbonation level moderate to heavy. Smells like weak hops and barley, just like any typical macro light beer. Tastes like watered down hops, very bland and slightly bitter. No real mouthfeel, carbonated water maybe. Hardly drinkable, I will most likely not finish this beverage. Very disappointed in this beer all around. Luckily purchased as a single so I needn't pawn this off on any friends.

Pours a light, pale gold with lots of carbonation and a fine layer of bubbles. Almost looks like champagne.

Smells like an import alright - light skunky aroma with a bit of earthy hops and light malty sweetness.

Tastes like a mix between Bud and Heineken. The body is really light and has almost no backbone. It's definitely got a smooth feel to it, but the hops are barely there. There's nothing special about Peroni. The extra cost for this is going to shipping costs, not flavor.

Poured from the bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.

A- It pours a bright yellow with a bout a finger of white head. Lots of bubbles. It looks like an American macro. Pretty dissapointing.

S- Also dissapointing. It has a weak grainy smell to it. Not much else. Typical weak Euro lager.

T- Another dissapointment. It has a weak grainy adjunct taste to it that reminds me of the BMC varieties. Also typical weak Euro lager.

M- It has the same moutfeel you would expect from a BMC light American macro. Like carbonated water.

D- I would say this is highly drinkable if all you are looking for is to get drunk. Otherwise it's a dissapointment in the flavor and aroma categories that makes me not want to drink this. It's just another fizzy yellow beer.

Bland taste, skunky smell, fizzy with no return of flavor. It went down without even noticing it wasn't really soda water. Perhaps for a really hot day when I'm out of every other beer, and the water hose/dog dish is too far away to drink from?

Pours an uninspiring clear yellow, and there is not much head. Aroma is weak and malty. Flavor is malty and has some bitterness, but there is no depth - it tastes no different from a hundred other lagers that I have tried. At least it is not watery like some American macro-brews.

Oh man, this was bad. Started out OK... three finger head, nice clear yellow, but when the head died down there was no lacing, no staying power.

Aroma was some lagery skunkiness and sweet grains, but not strong at all. Mild to the extreme.

Taste was bland and weak. Slightly bitter, but no hop flavor. Mostly skunky malt. Ick.

Mouthfeel was way too watery, No body at all.

Overall I will avoid this beer at all costs.

This is a rather rough and somewhat unpleasant beer, thoroughly at the low end even for a basic macro pale lager.

It is light gold with a big, bubbly white head that dissipates steadily to a wispy ring.

Aroma is mostly a basic pale-lager smell but with a stronger sharp grain character and unplesant metallic hint, plus a sharp and unpleasantly sulphury ("skunky") quality that is unusually pronounced.

Thankfully, it tastes a little better than it smells, again a character slightly stronger than usual for a macro lager. At first, though, it tends to the sulphury-metallic side awith a metallicy bitter finish, before just becoming more bland and characterless.

Pale gold, lots of upcharging bubbles, but not enough to replenish the skeletal macro head that sits on top. Laces are simple, some strings on one side of the glass. Slightly sweet aroma, sweet grass, light citrus. Mouthfeel is overcarbonated and not happening in any real body. Flavor starts totally mediocre, a bit of lemon and really bland brown sugar and is then defeated by the overly charged texture. Hops are left behind as the citrus fades into a sucrose-like sweetness and a bit of water. Nothing is jarring or horribly nasty about this brew, nothing is there to help build a foundation of a memorable beer either. Reasonably refreshing.

(355 ml bottle) Peroni Nastro Azzurro pours a bright, light golden with a fully diminishing white head. It is very clear and sparkling. The aroma is pretty slight and sweet. It mostly smells like adjuncts with a little juicy wooden hops. There is almost a touch of brown sugar in the nose. The beer feels light but not watery. There is a little prickle on the tongue at the swallow. Not bad. There are not enough hops to cover the skunk, but they are detectable. Corn and lemon and fiberboard are three things that come to mind. If Steam Whistle went skunky, it could taste like this. If you took the malt out of a Bedele, it could taste like this. My people call this maize. I'd like to run this against a Heineken. Is this skunked or is this on purpose? Is this fermented polenta?

Appears a pale gold with a small white head that quickly fades out. Chunks of carbonation quickly rise to the top.
Smell is of yeasty cornbread batter with some pils malt, fresh cut lawn, and scattered straw.
Taste is of the same, non-complex aromas with a metalic, grassy taste.
Mouthfeel is grainy, grassy, and like bad medicine that I really don't want to swallow with an unbalanced bitterness that leads to a metallic funk that is just plain unapealling.

Pours light beige, some carbonation, no head. Looks like a light beer. Smell is lightly hopped and well skunked! Taste follows with some hops, not much flavor, and a bit o' skunk. Eh. Tastes and smells like a light Heineken. Mouthfeel is very light also. A decent session beer I suppose, but I'm not impressed.
