Presentation: 11.2 oz slender Euro style bottle with a blurb about the beer on the front label and a “best before end” date on the back label.
Appearance: Big bubble meringue-like head that subsides to a rocky lace, bight light golden hue.
Smell: Sweet grainy aroma with a bready back ground and a light floral hop in the nose.
Taste: Moderate body with a slickness to the mouth feel, sweetness bursts from the grain with a fresh cut hay flavour. Very clean palate with a bite of hop bitterness, as soon as the bitterness peaks a handful of grain flavour hits the taste buds hard. Slight herbal hop and more grain in the finish.
Notes: This tastes like slightly bigger Peroni Lager, a quality Euro lager that I would not mind having around here and there. Went well with the pepperoni / sun dried tomato spiked turkey burgers I grilled.

Very malty and carbonated. Does not strike me as hoppy. Very reminiscent of negro modelo, but heavier.
Tried this because it was different, and probably would not get again. There's a lack of hoppy brightness to cut through the malt so it sorta ends up too sweet then too metallic.

A 330ml bottle with a BB of Sept 2011. I tried this beer previously while I was in Rome, and thought it had more substance than the average lager. Label mentions 6.6% ABV - rather strong.
Poured into a Sam Smith's pint glass. Pours a deep golden amber with light carbonation and large bubbles. Fast pour results in a huge white head which reduces after a few minutes. Aroma of light malt with grainy notes and a hint of alcohol.
The predominant taste is grainy malt, with some bitterness on the palate. No hoppy notes to add balance, making it somewhat sweet. The alcohol is well hidden given the light flavour. The tongue tingles from the carbonation. A smooth mouthfeel with slight astringency; more substantial than most lagers.
Overall, a decent lager. Makes a good alternative to the usual offerings - worth trying if you encounter it.

I would imagine it would be good with Italian, has a doughy sort of pizza base flavour in there, malty rather than hoppy, tends to be a bit sticky and stale on its own though, must have with food.

A clear amber body is capped by a creamy head of white foam that slowly subsides into a thin collar leaving behind little lace. The nose expresses a sweetish, bready & grainy malt that's accented by a gentle, floral hop character. The body is medium; and its very fine, median carbonation helps to awaken the tastebuds with a crispness across the palate. The grainy malt returns in the flavor - a little more grassy and toasty than sweetly bready, and it's floral hoppiness remains intact and becomes more apparent towards the finish. It's backed by a firm bitterness that lets the malt take center stage but anchors it quite securely. It finishes clean and dry with some light, lingering malt. Quite enjoyable, and an excellent choice with a hearty meal!

Doppio Malto. Very charming, well balanced. Sweet but not sickly. Good clean taste despite strength. Very drinkable.

Paid 2.50 euro for a 3-pack of bottles. Perfectly transparent. Almost eerily transparent. Amber-orange color. No foam or head to speak of, but it did make a group of larger bubbles on the surface - kind of like pee in a toilet! Not much smell to speak of. Taste is - holy crap - this stuff is loaded with sugar. Like raw sugar, or maple syrup. Not much beer to speak of - there is a hint of citrus, maybe orange blossom. Mouthfeel is actually quite nice. Good bubble, not too foamy. A bit sticky.
Regular Peroni might actually be better than this.

Pours deep amber with a large, lasting head.
Nose shows sweet caramel, golden syrup, cardboard and grainy malt.
Flavours include less caramel and golden syrup with the cardboard and some vegetal notes standing out instead. The alcohol is also quite noticeable.
Body is a little light on, carbonation could be higher.

330ml brown bottle poured into a Hobgoblin pint pot.
A. A crystal clear pale amber coloured beer with a white bubbly head that shrank fairly quickly down to a thin foam.
S. Floral, grassy, biscuit malt aromas dominate. Some faint citrus nuances too.
T. Slight toffee, biscuity malt character and a not too bitter finish to end with.
M. Medium bodied
D. A clean, easy drinking lager. Doesn't feel like a 6.6% abv beer.

The beer pours lighter than you might expect (deceptive brown bottles!), and doesn't look particularly exciting, but it's clear. The smell is sweet, with honey aromas, but not much nose. The honey is again there strongly in the taste, which is pleasant and refreshing, but a mite watery for a true premium lager. the mouthfeel is smooth, not too carbonated, especially compared to the Nastro Azzuro. Nicely drinkable to start, but the sweetness starts to overwhelm toward the finish.

Impressive looking label and bottle neck covering, brown 33cl bottle, best before July 2008, drank 1st Nov 2007.
Poured into one of my Duvel glasses, why? Because it claims to be a Birra Doppio Malto and is styled on this site as an European Pale Lager.
It could have been a Duvel if the white head had been twice the size, but it still looked good. A clear golden yellow with bubbles rising though the body up to the head, which refused to stay as large as it started out at.
Yet again an almost odourless lager, it gets my standard 3 score. Where has the double malts gone? Not into the aroma that's for sure.
This breweries normal beer must be insipid because their 'Gran Riserva' is nothing to shout about. There is some malt in there somewhere and the 6.6% alcohol can be found, but that is all. it is better than a bog standard Italian lager, but that isn't saying much is it?
The nothingness that met my tastebuds stayed in the mouthfeel.
The packageing is better than the product and the extra cost isn't worth the end result. Just above average.

Enjoyed in Edinburgh, Scotland at an Italian restaurant. Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass. Tasted on 10/16/10. Reviewed from notes.
A - very thick foamy white head; clear yellow in color
S - light aromas of yeast and bread
T - slightly tart, crispy hops with some faded tasting pale malts
M - medium carbonation with slightly hoppy bittering finish
D - not super well rounded; uninteresting hops bill with little malt; drinkable none the less
