Bottle to shaker pint at a fine restaurant in PHX. Crystal clear pale straw appearance with a minor soapy white head that sticks with medium bubbles. Sweet and bready, minor fruity floral characteristics, highly carbonated, easy drinking but not much to it.

Drunk at the Spuzzuliamm' pizzeria in Napoli (Italy). 0,67 liter bottle.
Look: shows a light golden color with a small foam head and lacing left behind.
Smell: light bready hints and floral.
Taste: breaady taste.
Feel: light bodied well carbonated beer
Overall, it is a good beer.

LOTS OF FIVES .. FROM MY HEART & SOUL & LOTS OF FOND MEMORIES.
PERONI RED A/O ROSSO. THE MOST POPULAR BEER IN ITALY.
IT'S BEEN, MAYBE, TWENTY PLUS YEARS SINCE IT'S BEEN AVAILABLE IN THE
UNITED STATES. REPLACED BY NASTRO, A DIFFERENT ANIMAL.
I DREAM ABOUT PERONI RED. WE EAT PIZZA, SPAGET, ITAL CHOW, ALL THE TIME.
RED WAS AT EVERY ITALIAN RESTAURANT THAT SOLD BEER. IT WAS THE GO TO.
I CAN SEE THAT TAP OR THAT NICE LOOKING BROWN BOTTLE WITH THE RED & WHITE LABEL.
FOLDING A HOT SLICE IN ONE HAND, A COLD PERONI IN THE OTHER. A BEER THAT BELONGED.
ANISE, THAT ANISE TASTE & SMELL. FELT SO GOOD.
SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE IT FOR SALE IN THE USA. HELP

perfectly fine mass lager from Italy. made in Bari, roma, Padova.
I prefer this to other (Moretti, Forst) Italian Lagers.
Bravo, much better than a Heinekin too!
When in Italy, order peroni.

(Bottle and draught). Very light golden colour, moderate head. "Neutral" pilsener flavour (yes, another one!) Drinkable, but Nastro Azzurro is better.

Today is T, 12 Mai 2020 & I am in deep isolation during the COVID-19 crisis, giving me ample time to clear out my backlog. This one will CANtinue a few days of imports for The CANQuest (tm). This one came to me from local, in-person trader @tone77 following a trip to Italy!
From the CAN: "La Birra Italiana (The Italian Beer)"; "Dal 1846 (Since 1846)"; "Tradizione E Qualità (Tradition & Quality)"; "[undersigned] Giovanni Peroni"; "Malto 100% Italiano (100% Italian Malt)".
I have not had this one for a while & the last time was from a Bottle (Gasp!). This time around, I
Crack!ed open the vent & beCAN a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I was pleasantly surprised by it rapid formation of just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with equally surprising low retention. POOF! & it was gone. 8=( Color was Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4) with NE-quality clarity. Nose held the big reveal of … CORN. Cleverly identified in the ingredients as "Granturco", I smelled it immediately! I am submitting a ChANge Request to have it made an AAL, otherwise, it deserves mostly 1s as a Euro Pale Lager. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, about on-par for an AAL. Taste had the ruinous sweet, fermented corn characteristic that I had hoped to put well into my rear-view mirror. 8=( Okay for that style, but not my bag at all. Finish was semi-dry (?), but an argument could be made for semi-sweet (?). I would argue that it isn't worth arguing over since it's CANned rubbish!

I found on a photo from a long time ago that I had this beer on the beach on the Isle of Lido, Venice, Italy a couple of years ago so it’s not what you would call a real review. However, my memories from that time are quite vivid and what I remember is the impression of that moment - so my numbers reflect that. Otherwise I’m quite sure that it was a normal “Euro lager” but wasn’t THAT bad as Nastro Azurro (another brew from Peroni) was quite alright. Italian beers are a bit worse than your average lager from Europe, sorry but time does make things seem better in retrospect...

I am enjoying this beer in Italy (Naples). Poured from an 11.2 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is weak, a touch of grains. Taste is mild, grains, some malts. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall, not bad, but kind of bland and boring.

Birra Peroni s.r.l. “Peroni”
33 cl brown glass bottle, “Best Before End 12/20” and sampled on 27 November 2019
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is not my first Peroni, nor will it be the last, although I don’t think there will be too many more. It’s poured a clear golden body beneath a short head of white that’s dropped before my eyes. This is probably not a “beer clean” glass but none of the Peroni beers that I’ve sampled have had very good head retention and lacing. The aroma expresses sweet grainy malt with a little bit of an herbal hop component to it. It’s clean, and welcoming. The flavor follows, and its sweetness is balanced by a stiff bitterness that helps to dry it in the end but ultimately leaves some malt lingering. Interestingly enough, the bitterness and some herbal hops linger as well. It’s a decent Euro lager that serves its purpose. In the mouth it’s medium bodied and gently crisp with a fine, gently effervescent carbonation that’s quite nice. It might not be the best but if you’re wanting for a train or flight and there’s nothing else available it’s enjoyable.

Had it while visiting a local Italian restaurant. If nothing else it was a nice looking beer. It was poured from a bottle into a frosted mug. This resulted in a clear yellow body topped with a creamy white head that left good lacing. Smelled grassy. Tasted grassy and a bit sweet. Clean tasting. It went well with the food.
