Style: American Pale Ale (APA)

Alcohol by volume (ABV): 5.90%

Availability: Year-round

Notes / Commercial Description:
This is a classic Pale Ale using English Pale malted parley, but with an interesting twist. The sole hop used is New Zealand’s Nelson Sauvin, which gives the flavor and aroma of gooseberry, Sauvignon Blanc wine and tropical fruits. Hop bitterness is much less than an IPA, allowing the unique Sauvin hop flavors to be enjoyed pint after pint!

On tap at the brewpub into a half pint glass

A: Pours a golden color with a half finger of white head. Quickly recedes to a film atop the beer.

S: Peaches and some musty aromas mixed with some bready malts. Straight forward, but very pleasant.

T: Peaches and mangos mixed with some very nice barnyardy must flavors. Bready malts in the background balance the beer very well.

M: A bit on the thicker side for the style with good carbonation.

O: Very, very good, exactly what I want in a local pale ale. Great, interesting hop flavor and aroma with a nice bready malt backbone. Clean, tasty, fresh.
