Was here today for the "soft" grand opening. Did not come to see a movie; just wanted to sit at the bar and enjoy a beer or two.
Walked into the lobby and was immediately met by a very friendly group of servers. I spotted the 512 IPA tap and orded a pint...I believe I may have ordered the very first pint in the place.
Nice wide open lobby.... Workers were still cleaning and polishing the bar and taps as I began sipping my pint. The staff was bad-ass. Very attentive, friendly...hopefully this trend will continue as the place begins to prosper.
Very cool to have free food samples delivered to the growing crowd of us that started to fill the bar seats. Coconut fried shrimp, chips and salsa, fried ravioli...Yum!
Big props to Walt Powell who took time out of his busy schedule to talk to me about beer and the upcoming in-house brewery. I was quite happy to see a fantastic variety of beers...Texas breweries were well represented! I'm hoping the brews will rotate as the seasons change.
Looking forward to returning soon. Hard to believe there's a great beer bar so close to home!
Great job Flix!

The vibe is, well... a movie theater. Not a small indie one either, but very much like a recently built megaplex, albeit a bit smaller. The beer seems to range from meh to pretty good, think a local brewpub with some fairly unimpressive staple beers but a brewer who likes to stretch his wings and has moderate success doing so. A pretty good variety of house beers on tap, with quite a few guest beers as well. Didn't have the food, but it seemed like they had some nice options for a theater. Service was perhaps the weak point, the bartender didn't really listen to what I asked her for and I had to send a beer back when she just poured me two of something instead of the two different beers we ordered. Overall it seems like it could be a cool place to see a movie if you lived nearby, but not really worth bothering with if you are only visiting.

Great find in Round Rock. Not only can you catch a new movie, you can do so with a lineup of quality brews. Extensive lineup, and the home brewed options are highly recommended. Fast in movie service, and decent food.

This is for the Flix in Des Moines Iowa. Had the Lulupus IPA , then a local brew. Good beer, good food, and saw a great movie. A really cool place

My favorite place to get a beer in Round Rock! They have 5 beers they always brew, an IPA, a witbier, a golden ale, a malty Scottish ale, and a belgian ale, plus 3-4 seasonal brews. Add to the 30 or so great beers on tap from around the country and you get a great place for a pint. Oh and did i mention that they're a movie theater too! All and all a great way to spend a day.

I am fortunate to have this place so close to my house. It has become my go to movie location.
Beer - Lots of handles, great, helpful and knowledgable staff. If you can't find something you like here there is something wrong with you - seek medical attention.
Food - When we ordered food for the first time we were shocked by the quality and quantity. I go hungry on purpose now.
Movie house - large comfortable seats with table/bar in front of each to set your beer, food etc. minimal lighting to enable reading menu and settling your bill. Staff efficient and unobtrusive - called using a call button system.

This will be a review of the place as a whole, not just the beer i saw but didn't get to drink.
Atmosphere--above average--for a movie house. Below average for a beer joint. Maybe it would have been different if i didn't go for a dinner and a movie.
Quality--Exceptional quality in the beer, so thats what i rated it. As this is a beer site first, food and other site second.
Service--Awful. They got my wife's order wrong for one. She ordered the steak finger basket and got chicken fingers, good thing shes not allergic to chicken. Second--and i actually expected this--they were out of JK Commercial Suicide, even though its on the printed, unchangeable menu. But, i understand this one completely. My replacement brew, devils backbone, took over 45 minutes to get to me, which limited me to 1 brew during the movie since i 1. like to drink THEN eat and 2. they stop serving 45 minutes before the movie ends. My wifes Berengers white zinfindel took 30 minutes to get to us. I will point out that at this point, everyone else in the theater had their drinks and most of their food.
Selection--definitely one of the best selections north of austin, and close to the best selection near me. Opal divines beats it by a smidge.
Food--slightly above average as far as im concerned. Definitely better than the alamo's selection as you can get burgers and pizza, but the chicken bbq pizza had an off taste that i wasnt real fond of. When the wife finally got the steak fingers, they were ok. The kids burgers were really good so kudos for that.
Value--decent prices for what you get. I thought some of the beer was overpriced, some underpriced. Same with food. Definitely reasonable. 80 bucks for a family of four including a movie, definitly reasonable. I spent more than that at dave and busters with crap beer and good food.
Overall--i probably wont be back for a movie till they get the hang of what service actually means. As far as the bar, i could definitely see stopping in for a few pints. They definitely need to train this particular server a bit better.
