Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a semi-hazy burnt copper/amber color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that quickly died off. Light stringy lace. The aroma had some sweet caramel/toffee malts, light sweet grain, herbal tones, and a little bit of floral hops. The flavor was mildly sweet through the malts. Nice clean aftertaste. Smooth sweet malty finish. The palate was between light and medium bodied with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate. Overall, pretty good amber ale that I could have again.

Another Bottle Backlog mystery here at Chez Woody. Did this one come to me courtesy of my local, in-person trader, Tone77, who is the last person to review it? Or is it another single-o to fill a mixed sixer at the FGBS? I leave it to the ether to decide.
Having Pop!ped the cap, I went with a gentle pour which still resulted in the unbidden formation of two fingers of foamy, fizzy, rocky, tawny head with decent retention. Color was Deep Amber/Light Copper to Copper (SRM = > 13, < 17) with NE-quality clarity. Nose smelled rather earthy, leading me to wonder what hops had been used. Mouthfeel was medium, but very carbonated. The taste had a minty, pine-y hoppiness underlain by an earthy maltiness. I liked this iteration on a style that used to be very prevalent, went by the wayside and is now making a comeback. Finish was dry, slightly bitter, but tasty enough to be satisfying.

Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has a bronze/amber color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of citrus hops, some malts. Taste is citrus up front, some smoke, caramel malts at the finish. Moderate bitterness for the style. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a solid beer.

On-tap at the Harrisburg Brewers Fest. The first beer from South County, a dry-hopped amber. Welcome to the scene!
A: The ale is appropriately amber, a fuller brown hue that is still translucent.
S: The nose has citrus hops, pungent, alongside a rich malt backdrop. Caramel and a mild smoke aroma pair up nicely.
T: The smoke is no ploy, it lasts into the taste. The smoke isn't at the smoked bacon level, it is content just to add a deeper flavor. On top of the smoke, the malts add toast and caramel. Mid-sip the hops are mild, slowly building up to a bolder citrus finish. The dry hopping is a smart idea, a crescendo for each sip. The hops aren't at an imperial amber level but they do register as an added bonus.
M: The mouthfeel takes a nice twist with the smoke, dose of sweetness amongst the toasted caramel base. A near-sessionable amber.
