Poured an almost opaque medium brown with a creamy white head. The head has some moderate retention, mostly on the collar. But it leaves nice lacing throughout the beer. The aroma is richly malt, with some dark fruit tones, a little sweetness and just a hint of hops. The taste follows right along and doesn't disappoint. There is satisfying weight and smoothness to the beer on the palate and nice hops crispness on the finish. A really good barleywine.

On tap at the brewpub served in a 5oz stange. Clear, dark amber with minimal white head and no lacing. Aroma is malty and full of caramel. There’s also some citrus hop. Taste is moderately sweet with honey and caramel followed by bitter citrus peel and herbal hop notes. A solid punch of heat. Full body, viscous texture. nearly flat carbonation, and a longer bitter, hot finish.

A: This poured a cloudy mahogany with a little off white head.
S: It smelled like bubble gum? Faint copper and caramel.
T: It tasted like bitter copper and orange peel, with some sweet caramel and confectioners sugar. It had a mostly clean, bittersweet aftertaste.
M: It was fairly thick with a little carbonation. Pretty good full body.
D: This was a nice new, but not very bold or complex. The scent and taste and body were all enjoyable. But the finish was a little harsh, so it was easier to sip. Decent but forgettable.
