Greenpoint Brooklyn, just a very short walk from McCarren Park.

A wall of empty beer cans on the left as you enter and the bar to the right...what I was looking for was cans to go and they had about 4 varieties. So currently its beer to do or food in the mid sized out door dining area in the rear...High top tables, televisions with the game, a load of quality in-house and guest taps on and a friendly staff......worth a visit if in the area and you want an outdoor bite and a few quality drafts....dont forget to pick up a few four packs of cans to go...

Dimly lit drinking area decorated with a wall of vintage cans and wireframe depictions. A short bar is cut in half by a supporting beam, with another half dozen or so tables for couples. It feels fairly cozy. A handful of TVs play sports games, with the crowd cheering on the game (despite neither team being local). Staff is quick and on point. Beer selection spans a good array of styles, but focuses more on the lighter options rather than dark. It's solid, but not worth the trouble of going out of your way to visit.

an interesting little spot here, stopped in for a couple of beers while we were in the neighborhood. it presents itself more like an irish pub than a brewery, mellow old bar room feel, with some irish decor, it feels relaxed and cozy, dark wood, some sports on tv, i didnt see brewing equipment anywhere, but they had a pretty long and diverse list of house made beers. we had a number of tasty ones, including a raw ale that blew me away, a well done sour, and a rustic pilsener type. the only one i didnt care for was the brut ipa, but thats not unique to these guys, thats turning out to be the style in general i fear. service was helpful and friendly in here, the chicken wings were solid, and the beers overall were pretty good, if a little less refined than the best beers we had in the city on our visit. i like an old world pub feel, especially around the holidays, a little nicer and more evolved than the standard taproom these days. not all the beers were amazing, but surely you will find something you like when you stop by. i enjoyed our time here, and appreciated the diversity of their beer menu!

Did I go to same place as the previous reviewers had?
The vibe, as my friend pointed out, was off right from the get - go: The mirror over the bar listing spirits had "Congac". Not a good start.
The service was very good so no criticism there. Then again, this site is about beer so let's talk about that. Three of us each got a sampler of four beers: not a one was finished. The first two I tried were a Berliner Wiesse and a barrel-aged sour: almost indistinguishable, and neither coming close to their respective styles. After that it was a dry-hopped saison and a pilsner. Both were weak and relatively flavorless. Also, all four of those beers were served too warm - not something I usually complain about. The IPAs were the last chance for redemption but no such luck. All four were weak and uninspired. This was most disappointing as I had noted good ratings for all of their IPAs on BA. This is the first time that this has happened in all of the time that I've been a member. Maybe I've just been lucky until now. And last but not least was the barrel-aged sour brown. Almost undrinkable.
All in all, a mediocre experience.

A pretty standard neighbor hood brewpub, a bit 90s in feel and quality., kind of sports bar like, a big change from being at Torst right before. The beers were hit and miss, some decent IPAs, but nothing special. Service was ok, it's a perfectly fine place overall, but you can do much better in this neighborhood and city.

This place invites one in; it had an odd familiarity, though I'd need been there before. Narrow footprint with a long bar that seats between 12-15 against one wall. Some tables, a wall made of beer cans, and a backyard contribute to the atmosphere. They had 14 of their own beers on tap, covering a nice variety of styles, and the three that I had were excellent. They also do crowlers, so I'll get to enjoy another one tomorrow. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Bartender was friendly and knowledgeable. Great Place.

This was a really nice stop. The beer was solid, not amazing. Didn't have any food when I went, since there were some issues in the kitchen, but it certainly looked good. Nice vibe, very neighborhood-bar type feel, with a few regulars already there at 11am when I visited. The service was great, bartender willing to chat and help me plan out my Brooklyn beer stops. Definitely worth a visit.

A fairly standard bar area with a few nooks and crannies around some corners. TVs with a variety of programming, including an auto auction, Bones, and SportsCenter. An extremely kind waitress/bartendress named Katie. She seemed to be serving the regulars and addressing them by name. I didn't have any food, but it sure smelled amazing. Beer was pretty darned good too. Happy hour, which is pretty much all day, was very cheap. Got 2 12 oz. pours, a barrel aged scottish ale and a DIPA for $4 each.

The place has transformed from a great local dive with a varied and well-rounded selection of imports on draft to only their own brews on draft. The pours are still quality and the food is a notch above correct, but I loved that they used to have stuff like Pilsner Urquell and Old Speckled Hen on draft. Now it seems they've kept up with the times, and their selection is what everyone else is offering - local microbrews with a heavy accent on IPAs. If that's your thing, you're going to love it. I preferred the old ways, but I'll still come here for the vibe and when I've got a hankering for some great waffle fries or wings.

Went by on 01/10/14. Really cool spot, cheap beers ($6 any pint of K&L beers), other beers on tap and pull bar. Didn't eat, beers were above average. TV's on for the football games, would def stop back in.
