Great beer selection (particularly the Clayton store). They have a good selection of local breweries and American craft beer as well as imports. They are lacking in the area of sour beers. They tend to get interesting things through the shop and are good to their regulars. They also have a rather good cheese selection.

As several below reviews have mentioned, this store is kind of the "little brother" to their Clayton location. That being said, this is another great store. Knowledgeable staff, huge selection of all things wines, beer, spirits, cheese, and high end foods make this a great store. The selection is only slightly diminished from the Clayton store's.

Overall, this is another great store that has the best of everything available in St. Louis.

The Clayton outpost of their store is fantastic! They regularly get beers that are otherwise relatively hard to find and the service is fantastic. Everybody in the store is knowledgable about wine and beer (and cheese too, presumably). Furthermore, the manager constantly updates their twitter feed with new arrivals so you always know when they have a new beer in stock. Great place!

This place is close to where I work. Honestly this is my home base. Great customer service. Love picking up orders from the website when needed. Marc is extremely helpful. Loving the expanded selection since they have expanded the store. Other staff less knowledgable, but will always try to help and are friendly.

Tucked in-between the Saint Louis Bread Company, an Edwards Jones Real Estate office, & the old Pepperidge Farm, a very cozy location by the Wine & Cheese Place.

Walking in, I could easily see where the beer selection was. In the back. Found myself there in 20 steps and browsed over their GREAT, but limited selection. 6 Jolly Pumpkins, 2 Charleville brews, and many other locals caught my eye but only came for what I had reserved for me, one of the new brews from 2nd Shift.

The staff was just fine here but they didn't really need to help me on my quest today. They also probably would just point you into the direction of the beer in the back, the liquor on the right side, or the wine that filled out almost the entire place (hence WINE & cheese place).

If I'm in the neighborhood, I might drop by this location but it wouldn't be my first pick. I go to the Forsyth first and then the Ballwin location second. Just like I said, nice cozy location and if you ask, they will transfer beers from one location to another. What a convenient chain of stores!

This is the best place to buy beer in the St. Louis area. The prices are very competitive and they run weekly specials which are even better. The turnover on popular beers is frequent, leading to very fresh beer on shelves for most American Craft Breweries. This location replaces what was a 'sister' store called provisions which had more focus on quality food, plus the wine and beer. A lot of the same people are still at N Ballas, including Robin, who is the lady to talk to about getting something that's not currently there.

The new wine and cheese place is up and running. Went in there last week to check it out. It's smaller than the old provisions market, but there's still plenty of selection in the beer department. Lots of good stuff like schlafly, stone, bell's, avery, firestone-walker, boulevard, various Belgians and imports, lots of American breweries, and even some new locals that I hadn't seen before. There's a decent sized cold section and two large shelves of warm selections to choose from. There's no shortage of premium 750 mL bottles either.

There's also a nice cheese and gourmet foods section in the store, as well as a large selection of wine and liquor.

Robin is the beer manager and does a great job keeping the place stocked with great stuff. The whole staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Given the great location, right off the 270 (take the olive exit, then turn on N ballas and go down about a block and a half, you can't miss it on the right), I'll be visiting every time I go to Saint Louis.

Special orders can be made on wineandcheeseplace.com and picked up at any of their locations, or even delivered or shipped to some locals.

Overall the wine and cheese place in Saint Louis is a top notch place.
