Stopped in the last night bought a Westmalle Tripel, Goose Island Sofie and Firestone Walker Porter. I think the Westmalle can be bought at other places, but the other two I have never seen in this immediate area. The owner has 3-4 taps to fill growlers so I'm definatley going back. He had Founders IPA and Porter (I believe). It sound like he mixes up the kegs quite a bit. He told me to check facebook to check what they had on tap. This place is worth the stop, I first went about 2.5 years ago and they have expanded their selection. There is a lot of beer I have never seen before in this immediate area. Cheers.

According to the man who seemed to be in charge the last time I was there the store carries over 500 different beers. It has a higher ratio of the large bottles to four/six packs than the other two locals places I am aware of with comparable selections (Wegmans and the place near Kmart) which, to me, implies a bit better chance to find something I have never had before.

The aforementioned "man in charge" also seems pretty knowledgeable and was willing to offer suggestions by style. The building can be a little tricky to find as, last I knew, there was no sign but is worth a visit, especially if you have tried the other local stores and are looking for some additional variety.

In a small, out-of-the-way town like Horseheads, you wouldn't expect to find any good craft beer, but this place is the hidden gem and the beer mecca for thirsty locals. Skeptics may turn up a nose at its bland, convenient store appearance, but there is a wealth of incredible beers awaiting inside, packed in every cooler, shelf, nook and cranny. Prices are kinda steep, but worth it for the quality. Almost everything that gets distribution to rural New York is available here, and even some specialties that aren't. Everything from domestics to whale-status Belgians are available here. The service is incredible. The owner and workers are friendly, knowledgeable, and generous. If you live anywhere near Elmira or Corning, you must give this place a visit!

Lewis Brothers Market is a nice little surprise for the beer lover. Although it is less than impressive from the outside, they have a great bottled beer selection (including some cold ones), a knowledgeable staff, and 8 growler taps. The owner is a true beer lover and goes out of his way to track down great craft brews. Comparing it to the local Wegmans (which has a great selection for a grocery store), Lewis Brothers has fewer beers overall, but a greater number of high-end and exotic craft brews. If you are ever in Horseheads, NY, it is worth making a stop at this semi-hidden gem!
