The IPA by Double Take is an interesting beer...not so much that it is awesome....but more by how easy drinking it is. The beer poured a clear yellow with 1/2 finger thick white head that is leaving a lace. The smell is more earthy type hops...no citrus or pine present....at least that I can pick up. The taste is a very mellow IPA that has a good compbination of bittering hops and sweeter malt. The mouthfeel is a medium body with smooth carbaontation. Overall I like this a a good session IPA...some may find it a bit sweet...this is definitely an East Coast IPA.

Poured from a bottle into a pilsner glass. About an inch of frothy head. Minimal lacing. Nice ring of film on the sides, that lasted throughout.

Slight whiffs of citrus and toffee, but a bit disappointing in terms of an IPA.

Citrus definitely dominates the initial taste. Lemon comes to mind, but it may be something else. It’s followed with an alcohol bite and slightly bitter finish.

Medium body. Creamy texture that was a bit oft-putting. Average carbonation. An abrupt ending.

A pretty average IPA overall. As I’m looking at my ratings, I might have been a bit generous, but I’ll stick with it.

Safeway beer.

Pours a bright gold color with a nice white head, good lacing too.

Nose is of grapefruits, hard candies, and pine.

Taste is creamy and doughy up front, light spice and sweetness. Finish is dry, with grapefruit bitterness. Pretty decent tasting IPA.

Mouthfeel is decent, but a bit to thin for my liking.

Overall, not a bad beer at all. It's an average, to slightly above average IPA. You could do worse with some more well known brands too.

12 oz. bottle from mix o pack from Von's. Pour is a clear deep golden in color with a one finnger cap of off white foam. Brief retention. Nose of light caramel and old hops yet nothing to deter. Taste is ooooold. No date code to be found but this beer is surely past its prime even though I just bought it yesterday. No real hop notes and tastes more of an amber at this juncture. Does offer a touch of spice and bitterness on the fnish. Overall run away...

Picked up a few sixers when Safeway introduced this beer at $2.99 a six pack!! I swear I thought I was reading it wrong. It is now back up to $6.99 or so. Pours a nice copper color with a good half inch of off-white foam with sticky lacing. The aroma is quite nice. Citrus punch right off the bat with some orange, green apple and lemon rind leading the way. The taste is good. Very refreshing and not overly potent as some IPA's can be. Multiples are easily consumed though the 6.9%. Nice hoppiness and a pretty good balance of malt on the swallow with some orange taste shining through also. Slight tangy aftertaste. Overall I was not holding out much hope for this based on the price and obscure brewing company. I was pleasantly surprised though and for the price it is a nice buy. Giver "her" a shot.

I picked up a sixer of this up at Dominick's for $6.99 on a whim, so I didn't have huge expectations since the price was right.

A - Looks and pours like a perfect example of an IPA. Golden color with a 2 finger off white head and some nice lacing.

S - The smell was well.. Pretty absent. A little bit of hop bitterness on the nose. It doesn't smell bad, but there isn't much.

T - Its pretty easy to drink and hides the almost 7% abv pretty well. That being said, if you are looking for a nice hop punch... It really isn't there. Finishes nicely though and it does the job.

M - Again, typical mouthfeel for an IPA. Medium bodied with a nice carbonation level.

O - If I was having a family party or something I would definitely throw a couple 6 packs of this in the cooler since its about the same price as your standard American adjunct six pack.

Poured from a standard pressure-cap 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Reviewed live. No best-by date.

A- Finger-thick white head. Medium retention. Light amber color with high clarity. Sticky lacing.

S- Very fruity floral hops. Tropical fruits. Quite pleasant actually, but not a very profile IPA.

T- Very bitter, pine and alpha hop oil. Some of the fruitiness exists, but not much. One of those too hop-forward IPAs that plague the U.S.

M- Thick and almost chunky. Dry finish.

O- About medium. Not good, not bad. Drinkable without being super enjoyable.

Appearance is golden amber with a thin but steady head and spotty lace. Smell of hoppy floral notes with a light sweet caramel malt aroma. Taste of sweet caramel malts with an underbalance of citric and piney floral hops. Mouthfeel is medium - light with good carbonation. For me it's way to sweet for an IPA and doesn't give the hops a chance to catch up from beginning to end even in the aftertaste.

Poured slightly chilled in straight-edge glass.

A: billowy head; copper-orange color; very good carbonation; decent lacing
S: sweet, light; hints of bubblegum, hops; aroma disappears relatively soon
T: decent-bodied IPA flavor; medium-strong hop profile; malts comes through in a sweetness that plays second fiddle to the hops

Overall a solid, but not spectacular, IPA.
