Bottled 1/16; consumed on 5/28 - poured from a 750mL bottle into my Bruery tulip.

Opaque seal brown liquid supports a lasting sand colored head; fine sandy lacing, faint legs.

Round, honey-sweet, softly chocolate-laden, orange-blossom infused coffee in the nose, backed by roast malt with hints of tobacco.

The flavor is compact, dense, and heavily concentrated. Nutty smooth coffee notes throughout. Mild bitterness, rich yet dry malt, with hints of cocoa and cinnamon in the finish, which expands to reveal a floral note and a vague whisper of acidity. Superbly balanced.

Creamy, but slightly thin mouth-feel - never acrid or tannic, and the ABV is well concealed while providing some extra flavor perhaps.

One of the better coffee beers I've had the pleasure of imbibing - would love to try one of the variants to see the impact a different coffee would have on the finished product.

Motor oil pour , dark tan head of foam that leaves a low lacing behind.

Tons of malt on the nose, with a quick roasty coffee followup. Not too sweet, not much lingering bitterness.

More malt in the flavors, yet balanced by lots of bitter roasty coffee. Dark chocolate backbone that dilutes the powerful roastiness in the profile; it does so very successfully.

Sump has an awesome thick body, sticky smooth. Creamy as it goes down. Subtle warmth, no uncomfortable burn or lingering bitterness.

finally got a fairly fresh bottle of this after my dust covered finds from last year. and man is it something else. bomber into a tulip, rougher pour brought a large tan head over a deep dark brown beer. there's a stubborn foam cap and rings sticking behind. nose is smooth, with a good coffee profile that is surprisingly subtle on the roastiness, but comes off a bit more delicate and has some notes of vanilla and sugars. taste is something else, with a wonderful blend of roasted coffee, dark fruits, chocolate and a splash of booze. there's a bitterness that keeps the sweetness in line and it leaves a lingering coffee note. drinks so pillowy and smooth. very warming and something i will enjoy going through

I had this beer on-tap in a snifter at Perennial in St. Louis.

Appearance: rich dark brown, nearly black, with a thin layer of brown foam. Dark!

Smell: sweet, with coffee, caramel, toffee, and marshmallow. A really interesting melange!

Taste: coffee, sweetness, caramel and a bit of ... more sweetness. This is absolutely a dessert beer, but it's damn tasty.

Mouthfeel: medium-rich body with a good carbonation and immensely smooth creaminess. The menu doesn't say this is a milk stout, but I'd believe it if it were.

Overall: very enjoyable. I'm not always a dessert beer guy, but this is darn good.

Had on draft at Lures Bar & Grille. This beer lives up to the hype and then some. Pours pitch black with very little head and has huge coffee aroma and flavor with some dark chocolate as well. Alcohol is nearly unnoticeable. The mouthfeel is thick and viscous, possibly more so than any other beer I've had - incredible.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. Bottled on '01.16.17'. Label note advises consumption within 60 days of bottling for "ideal flavor and aroma". Label reads as 10.6% ABV.
Opaque, black colored body. Minimal tan head which sticks around as a ring and scattered islands. Just a very few spots of lacing.
Aroma of strong dark roasted malts and coffee. Chocolate appears too.
Massive taste of dark roasted malts and coffee. Marshmallow/vanilla chocolate mix in.
Fully mouth coating and smooth/creamy mouth feel. No bitterness, but only mildly sweet. ABV is there as a hint but mostly hidden.
A super supreme sipping beer. All aspects of aroma, taste, and mouth feel are enjoyable.
