Tart, Crisp, Dry, Fruity

Hopfentea is puckering to start, but then the tastebuds warm up and welcome each following sip. Suggestions of rosehips, lemon juice, pomelos, white tea and a faint breadiness. The tartness eventually fades, and the finish is quite clean. It’s a fun twist on the style that nonetheless stays well within its borders. No need for syrups here as this one is perfectly fine on its own. Once again, Perennial never ceases to amaze me.

5 oz. pour at CBC Columbia. Pours rose/amber color with slight head. Fruity smells, but no specific fruit comes to mind. Tastes of tropical fruits on the front, with a slight tea bitterness playing with the hops on the back end. Overall, very refreshing.

Peach to amber in color with a bit of haziness. Head is virtually nonexistent. Aroma of tropical tea with a hint of wheat. Mango and passion fruit are present. The body is light and this is meant to be fairly drinkable, but the sweetness prevents that from happening.

Pours a chill hazed amber with a thumb of pearl colored head. Stays effervescent throughout, average lacing & head retention

S: Tartness, not much else

T: Tartness, a little raspberry, a little pear, some cherry & a touch of grapefruit up front. Dryness & a little mango as this warms, a touch of peach as warms, plus some pommegranite, serious tartness, some floral notes, probably from the hibiscus. Finishes tart with a little mango

MF: Light body, champagne like carbonation

Nice thirst quencher,

Big carbonated head that dissipates quickly. Super refreshing sour, light on body and mouthfeel. Beer gatorade for those sticky summer evenings.
